in practice

we already had a DEAL with the FA about hosting 2006

in an act of horrendous betrayal and treachery

Germany getting Euro 2024 also means that Berlin or Hamburg do not really have to apply for the 2024 Olympics

let's hope we get the 2028 Olympics as well

Maybe they learned, because apparently there is another deal that DFB supports England for Euro 2028. Well in the end, so many deals and it will probably go to Turkey and Azerbaijan instead those years.

That's true but I hope this is a one time special nevertheless. I think I like the traditional approach more. Vistiting one country is nice (with 24 teams even 2 countries hosting it shouldn't be a problem anymore). But every now and then, its ok. Maybe after the cup we can say more about it.

Correct. I think its a rather bad deal too. Couldn't care less if the final is in my country or not. A whole tournament on the other hand...


There are some other interesting decisions on the table. I think i've read somewhere that every group will get two cities to play in. They probably want them to be cloth toghether so it isn't THAT much travelling for the teams and fans. Also there are rumors about giving each qualified team home games if possible.
That means if they locate Rome - Bilbao as one group and Dublin-Glasgow if those countries qualify...would we get some preseeded goups? Too bad for Italy/Spain then (even if both made it to the finals out of the same group in 2012)?

That means that the earliest tournament England can stage will be 2028 and they probably won't get that since they are getting the final in 2020.
