Newcastle should really be shitting their pants. Lost 5-1 last weekend whilst we won 6-1 away in midweek at Southampton.

Usually this is the kind of game we f**k up but I don't think Klopp will allow it. Our mentality is getting much better - we went a goal down early at Chelsea and Southampton and ended up destroying them.

    Spoilt for choice selection wise.

    Think it will be:

    -------------------Mignolet---------------------

    --Clyne------Skrtel-----------Lovren---------Moreno----------------

    --------------Henderson-Lucas----Milner---------------------------

    ------------Sturridge----Lallana---------Firmino---------------------

Can is suspended. Coutinho not yet fit and Benteke and Origi good options from the bench.

Absolutely fucking dead this board. Time to shut it down I think Ballack.

City 2 down at Stoke inside 18 minutes.

Take Aguero out this team and they are shite. Sterling has to be the poorest buy of their rich period so far - 50 million. No way near that yet.

Stoke have been excellent; Bojan, Shaquiri and Arnoutavic have caused chaos like Coutinho, Firmino and Benteke did at City a few weeks ago.

City need to sign a striker and 2 defenders in January.

Title race is wide open - if we win tomorrow we're 4 points off the top potentially.

Title race is really the most wide open it's been for year - all the big teams are flawed and inconsistent. We could be going into Christmas with about 6 teams within 3 pts of top and it genuinely could end up with someone like Spurs or Liverpool winning it. Would be great for the league if that happened.

Only thing stopping Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool is one more world class player and belief. January could change that.

We're winning. I really don't know how. Southampton conspired to miss a host of clear chances and then took some defensive lessons from Villa in letting a mishit corner bounce through the 6 yard box for Lescott to tap in.

I doubt we have the mental strength to hold out 2nd half, though hopefully Southampton will be the more tired having played midweek.

We're not the type of team to allow other clubs to nick our signature moves. Southampton equaliser a near carbon copy.

Got a point though, better than expected. Looked like it was gonna be a rout like last seasonin the early stages

17 minutes in, Newcastle look pretty comfortable. Problem for them is Cisse looks easily the laziest centre forward in the league - off the ball running non existent. Wijnaldum and Anita winning the ball deep in Liverpools half but no one to feed upfront.

It's early but appears Liverpool lack the energy and cohesion they had against City. Midweek game perhaps?

My my, it's almost as if Liverpool fans would've learnt not to get too carried away by now.

That said I did think they'd smash Newcastle, but that's just what makes this season so unpredictably great. Also, it was stupid to assume Klopp would need just a few months to sort this team out. Yes they looked awesome against an off form Southampton, a Chelsea side who can't seem to win at home and a City side missing Kompany and Otamendi. But the inevitable inconsistencies that stained their season last year were never going to go away overnight.

For the record I suspect Benteke's Liverpool career could end up being a short one - so clearly doesn't appear to fit Klopps approach, they look toothless and slow upfront with him there. A fit Sturridge or Firmino should get the majority of playing time as the fulcrum in attack I would imagine long term.
