It sounds like he wants assurances over transfers, we'd be stupid to say no and let Graham Carr continue making mistakes, but this is the same club that brought Joe Kinnear in as director of football, anything is possible.

Sounds like he wants to stay
"It was very emotional. I knew it could be like this! My heart is telling me 'yes'. It's a fantastic opportunity, a fantastic atmosphere. My heart is very clear but you have to be sure..."

Sounds like someone has proposed to him. He's going to meet with Charnley, who will probably f**k it up.

Meanwhile Collymore is asking if he's really what we need, shouldn't we go for a "championship specialist"? Laughing f**k me

You should be able to come back fast no matter what, but something has to change. Read a good article from John Karelse about Newcastle the other day. About the fact that Newcastle tends to buy players for no reason other then to buy something.

Well we need to do better at judging a players attitude and whether they will fit in. Look at Shelvey, £12m and 80k per week and he looks done already, Rafa doesn't rate him at all and you can see why, he's useless off the ball. But this is why we need Rafa to stay, he will know what needs to change, the others at the club are clueless.

    Mr klinsmann,

Surely this must be up there with the biggest Spurs f**k ups ever? Finishing below that clueless Arsenal team of ours managed by a clueless manager who's well past his sell by date is an utter disgrace. That Spurs team is easily the best in the league in my opinion, you guys should have walked the PL. Big big chance missed.

Cool of Benitez to stay around. A year ago he probably figured this would be another chance to establish himself again among elite coaches. What a rollercoaster ride this season has been for him.

If I were a Spurs fan I wouldn't be too miffed since they had already lost the title and everybody knows that it was Tottenham that were competing for the title in the business end of the season. The fact that they lost it after the race was over isn't a big thing.

It's a big thing in that this was their best chance to finish above their main rival for the 1st time in 21 years and finally get that monkey off their backs but they completely bottled it as they have repeatedly done season after season in the last decade. The danger here is it becomes a mentality thing, becomes ingrained in their psyche that no matter what they do they'll always be 2nd best to us. This was their chance to prove this current team is different from all other bottling Spurs sides but they failed.

I'd be massively gutted if I was a Spurs fan. Even as an arsenal I think it's a joke that we finished above them, there's no way this Arsenal team deserves to finish 2nd in any league.

Sup homeboy. Long time no speak!

Frankly 3rd is probably about right - we drew too many games this season and failed to learn the art of seeing out victories from winning positions. As 'bad' as Arsenal have been, still have had that individual quality to dig them out of games whereas for us our poor squad depth has been exposed big time. Because where I'm sat it appears to have been a 'perfect' storm of:

    1) Pochettino's intense style finally taking it's toll on the (limited sized squad of) players into the last 4-5 games
    2) Losing Alli and Dembele to stupid disciplinary discretions and Mason/Son failing to provide adequate cover crucially when needed
    3) The mental toll of having to pick themselves up after being knocked out of title contention, particularly in the manner of the way it occurred (at home to West Brom, followed by THAT game against Chelsea).

The reality is probably that we indeed live in a Matrix where there's a hardcoded algorithm developed by our Machine Overlords that demands Spurs continuously bottle it and finish below Arsenal in order to contribute to the appearance of stability in an otherwise instable and chaotic Universe. This way we humans will never wake up and they can continue to harvest our bodies for energy whilst our conscious minds remain distracted.

As for the hashtag legend: It's the least I expected. Podolski and Wilshere will follow suit pretty soon. They are a great reminder of the old adage that the emptiest vessels make the most noise. It'd sting more if they hadn't faded into irrelevance and obscurity as players. Now it's too easy to just laugh at their attempts for recognition, particularly given the vast majority of the Spurs players will going to the Euros whilst they sit at home, forlorn and unloved. Sadface.
