He also cost more because of his professional behaviour , if he went on a strike etc the price would have been lower.
He wanted to come to us but never really spoke out about it in the press during the transfer negotiations.

BilalShah wrote:We payed 14 m for Carrick , overpriced yes I agree , his value should be around the 10 m mark but Alonso also cost more then 10 m cant remember exactly,in Carrick's case some extra millions went for him being English and sme other to persuade Tottenham to part with their midfield playmaker and tell me another player that would have cost less.

Alonso is a much better player than carrick though ok

Funny though and what ive been saying for weeks Wink

Downings set pieces yesterday was amazing by the way.

All of this "he's been shit for a season" stuff if bollocks. He hardly even got to play last season because of the injuries...so his one full season he was brilliant, now he looks like he's getting fit again and back to his best. I'd rather he never played for England again though, too many know nothing cunts watch England games and i'd rather Downing didnt have to represent a nation full of those people.

Fletcher was ace, as was Scholes.

Carricks passing was piss poor in the first half though, im not even just saying to take the mick. He was awful, the amount of easy passes he fucked up was a joke.

Cant remember much of him in the 2nd half so he was either not involved very often or slightly improved.

It's laughable that a journo of any sort, drunk or sober, manic or depressed, high or not high, can try to claim that Gerrard was Twice as good as Carrick yesterday.

    Doh

Neil Custis is his name and he's long said we should of got Hargreaves instead. Obvious agenda.

Carrick and Scholes have been really good as a partnership.

We will also get Hargreaves(I hope) , if Cooper cant see how we controlled the tempo of the game with Carrick then I have nothing more to say.

Thats because there's nothing you can say. As in the first half he was as shit as ive said and there's no denying that. He misplaced about 6 or 7 passes and thats ALL he is there for.

    Carrick > Boateng
    Fletcher > Cattermole
    Richardson > Downing
