About time I stop seeing Quaresma using white and blue, and scoring wonder goals for the wrong team...

The biggest urgence is the timing.

Quaresma knows that his wage is ridicullous compared to what is worth, and he had a verbal agreement to leave Porto as soon as they had good proposals, that was the deal.

Quaresma agent is doing one thing: give his player a market wage by forcing a late transfer.

12 million EUR total transfer. Porto wanted more, and told him to wait... no deal.

12 million EUR is low enough to make more more profit from.

Is that all he'd cost? That's bloody ridiculous. Pennant was nearly £7million, I would have thought Quaresma would be £10million+

There is something very wrong with the world if we don't try and sign him at that price.

Atletico Madrid strike deal for Porto's Quaresma
Atletico Madrid have secured a deal for Porto attacker Ricardo Quaresma ahead of the January market.

Sources close to the negotiations have told AS that "Quaresma will be an Atletico player - one way or another".

The Portugal international's agent, Jorge Mendes, also handles Atletico trio Gourkas Seitaridis, Costinha and Maniche and enjoys an excellent relationship with the Madrid club's leadership.

Quaresma will join Atletico on a three-and-a-half year contract with the Madrid giants parting with over £8 million to land the ex-Barcelona man when the winter market opens.

Well, I hope it's true. I've read about this before but didn't buy it. Quaresma leaving in January seems like a move Porto wouldn't go for.

Still, let's stay optimistic hey doninha.

I think for Quaresma though, this represents a positive change in that he will get more of an international focus in Madrid. Not b/c Ateltico is a bigger club than Porto (clearly, it's not) but simply b/c of the transfer and the fact he'll be joining the Spanish league. In the end I can't help but think he's final goal will be to make it at Atletico and then push for a move across town to Real.

For now, let's just hope it happens.

@Obispo - you already knew guys pay way over the price those English talents are worth...but that's what you get when you buy 'English' ...whatever that's supposed to mean. And people say Nani is overpriced...

Heheh it seems Quaresma will continue to hunt Porto's rival nightmares

    Twisted Evil

Then again i am used to see spanish newspapers buying all Porto players (and Sporting and Benfica's for that matter) for some cents, it is like Portuguese clubs are third division clubs. When will they get real. They want it, they must pay what they are worth.
I think Porto will probably sell at the end of the season some star player but NEVER EVER in the middle of the season when we are fighting for the champions league knock-out stage.

    cheers Ale

What is Quaresma's stats this season?

In the Champions League he has 2 assists this season. What about the Portuguese Superliga?

i was watching Eurogoals, Vitoria Setubal 0 - 3 FC Porto. Quaresma created a goal for Lisandro Lopez and scored a free kick.

how do you think Quaresma would do in the Premiership?

So far he has 4 goals in 8 games in domestic league. In newspaper "A Bola" e is the 5th in total rate points (but he missed a game, so he would lead, and leads probably in average rating).

Don't know the assists, as in Portugal no one keeps stats of it (I know, ridicullous), but its plenty of them.

You can see his 4 goals in domestic league... always great goals...

Didn't start, but that's not really surprising. Did come off the bench and was lively. Positive outing for him.

Simão is out against Belgium, so that should give Quaresma a good chance of starting the match.
