Reading a few papers it appears he will be playing gerrard on the right, and not lennon just yet.

Now if he has the balls to drop lamps aswell.

Will be a more stable solid unit for sure, i think it could work very well.

Does it really matter too much if he plays Lampard if Gerrard's on the right? They'll get in eachother's way, but atleast they can both attack. Isn't Carrick injured?

My only worry with that particular system would be that Gerrard and Cole will provide no width at all. Gerrard works on the right for us because Kewell tends to hog the touchline when the ball is on the right hand side. Vice versa when the ball is on the left.

Will Cole do that? He seems to want to play at the tip of a diamond always. Which could work in theory, given that Lampard plays on the left of a 3 at Chelsea.

Yeah, but not in a 4-4-2, I don't think it suits that. I wanted the Madrid system of 2001-2003, the one Ferguson tried to replicate. 4-2-3-1. It could be that McLaren sets up that way, but if it's 4-4-2 then I think it's going to be too narrow. Houllier football.
