Inter fuming at absent Adriano
Tuesday 19 December, 2006
Adriano’s future at Internazionale is again in doubt after the striker failed to turn up to training on Monday.
The Brazilian should have worked at the Pinetina yesterday with his teammates, but is thought to have infuriated boss Roberto Mancini after he went AWOL.
The misfiring attacker may now be dropped from the squad that will take on Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday night.
It’s unclear as to why Adriano was missing, but whispers suggest that he overslept after his alarm clock failed to activate.
However, the player’s commitment to rediscovering his old self is again being questioned after he was allegedly spotted out in Milan on Sunday night.
It now remains to be seen what action the Via Durini outfit will take as some rumours are suggesting he may be put up for sale in January.
La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests Inter could consider starting an official negotiation with Barcelona, who own Lionel Messi, a player Massimo Moratti has made no secret he would like to see with the San Siro outfit.
Inter have tried to get Adriano back to his very best after his difficult 2006 by recently allowing him to return to his homeland for a little break.
