The CL of Prediction Competitions!!

(sorry for advertising on this board!)

As promised in the 606 MB a few months back, I will be starting the annual Champions League of Prediction Competitions this season.

The competition will have an interesting flavor through-out the season... this will not only test your predictions on the CL games, but also involve your knowledge of your favorite league (your "home game"), and your knowledge of your opponents favorite league (your "away game"). The leagues considered are restricted to 5 top leagues in the UEFA list for this seasons competition (La Liga, Serie A, EPL, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1).

This is the BIG DADDY of all Prediction Competitions!!!!!!!!

We already have 30 participants (as of 14Aug) and there is a hard stop at 50!!! So do rush to the predictions MB and sign up!!!!! (link below)

Can you please explain the significance of the home and away thing please ? Cheers.

This will be significant in the first round of our prediction competition (which will run in Jan-Feb when there are no CL games). We will imitate the first round of CL, were there will be 8 groups of 4 participants, and everyone in a group plays each other twice in a one-on-one prediction contest.

For eg, if we both are in one group, then we will make predictions of Serie A (my home game) and Bundesliga (your home game) fixtures. So say that in the Serie A predictions of that week, I beat you 8-6, and in the Bungesliga predictions you beat me 10-7... them our table will look like (using these points as goals)

Sgoater-----2---1----0---1----16---15
Bluenine----2---1----0---1----15---16

and so on till everyone in that group of 4 has played each other twice. Then the top two teams will advance for the final stage from each group.

Makes sense?
