Saints henry's goal was brilliant yesterday both for the finish and the move which led to it.
You mean the three-pass move where Blackburn basically left Arsenal alone?
Hardly a great move when it contains 3 passes, no attempts at tackles, no pressing, lots of space to move in, no marking...
The finish was excellent. Apart from that it was an exceptionally mediocre goal that was largely down to passivity in Blackburn's defence.
To call it even a contender for goal of the season is a joke. As I said, it wouldn't have even got into the December goal of the month competition.
It was as obvious as a Park lives windup that there would be however many pages devoted to it. some of you are equally obsessed with rubbishing him as the press are with hyping him.. ie you are both as bad as each other
The difference is that the press hyped Henry first. If it weren't for Jonathan Pearce ejaculating whenever Henry does something as ordinary as hit the ball wide from 20 yards then the hatred for Henry's reputation that exists wouldn't be anywhere near as strong. If it weren't for the fact that his obvious failings as a player (only works well on one side of the pitch, can't head, over relies on pace etc. etc.) are completely overlooked by the national and international press, in favour of calling him the 'complete' player, then we wouldn't have to point out how crap this representation of him is. If I repeatedly called Wayne Rooney the complete player who can score every kind of goal and has been the best in the world for years then you'd come out and say 'that's all bullshit'. What's the difference?
Nothing.
I say all this as an arsenal fan of course in the same way spanky was an arsenal fan last week and saints is a permanent man united fan.. more so than half the other united fans on the board
I am a Man U fan, I openly admit that. I'm not a supporter, but I am a fan. The difference is that I've criticised Man U for being lucky/overrated/not as good at they think they are on a number of occasions, whereas you
only say good things about Arsenal. It isn't really about clubs, it's about hype, rhetoric and calling a spade a spade.
