I'm with Tweedle on this one. I think they're putting him in the shop window by talking him up then loaing him out. We'll have to wait and see.L r d wrote:Kimbo wrote:But if he's so good why don't Man U have a use for him now, with Rooney out of form surely Rossi could do a job?
It's really not that simple. Man Utd have larsson ole rooney saha. Rossi can play many games for parma, next year man utd will have rooney saha then rossi will be third choice. There is no way man utd will sell this guy.

I am not comparing him to Cesc, just a wind up back at you. Cesc is a proven prem player now and is way ahead of Rossi at the moment. In the future, it may be the opposite, time will tell.

Mine wasn't supposed to be a wind up, I genuinely think you'll sell him if Parma offer about £4m

@Kimbo,
This is the brilliance, I was reffering to
http://www.fcparma.com/it/
On his debut for a struggling Parma side, the Italian boy wonder, rescues his former team in a MOTM performance. If Newcastle played football on the floor, you would have seen alot of moments like this.

Right, players like Martins, N'Zogbia, Solano, Emre and Dyer don't know how to play football on the ground. Watch Newcastle play before commenting.Rez wrote:@Kimbo,

Re: Parma: "We have Giuseppe Rossi"
I am exagerating slightly because of our previous discussion. You do have players such as Martins and Dyer who play very good football and I like watching them play.
But when Rossi played for you, the whole team punted balls to him, giving him no chance. You said I dont understand the hype, he is the same as some other youngsters. I told you how I knew he was special by watching him play. This video clip confirms my view that when people play the ball on the floor to him, his class is instantly apparent. Do you wonder why, you never saw any moments like this for your boys?
He will score many more goals like this in Seria A and the prem, because he is a special player.

I know why, it's because he would get shoved off the ball whenever he got it. And 1 goal isn't enough to convince me that he is special, he's a good prospect but not a special one IMO.Rez wrote:I am exagerating slightly because of our previous discussion. You do have players such as Martins and Dyer who play very good football and I like watching them play.

Re: Parma: "We have Giuseppe Rossi"
Look you cant shove someone if you cant get near them. This isnt Rugby, if your fast and can dribble well, being physically strong isnt the be all and end all. I admit he isnt the strongest, but thats a poor excuse. Ifyou punt long balls at him, he will get pushed out the way by defenders, if he comes deep and then you play the ball to his feet, he wont have big defenders shoving him, which has been my point the whole time.
That goal was the first of many, he was scoring goals like that for united reserves week in week out. He will continue to score them in Seri A and Italy u21, then for united next season.

You have only really improved and started to play football recently. When he was there you were utter shite, I've never seen so many long balls in all my life and all to a pretty small, young striker.

Re: Parma: "We have Giuseppe Rossi"
Giuseppe Rossi you had scored in your debut
As a young player you would to play regularly and thats why I had decided to go on loan. I am happy for the goal because we had played really well and earned 3 important points. To build a great career you have to do loads of sacrifices and thats why this year i had moved from the US to Italy, and from Italy to England. I think that everything had gone just fine and I hope things remain like that. Ive come here to play as much as I can and give my 100% to the team
Whom your going to dedicate this goal?
To my cousin Sergio who had died few months ago
What have you thought when you have scored?
I have thought on how Im going to celebrate the goal
For you returning to Parma was like returning Home
I have played with Parma Youth team for 5 years and today the coach had given me the chance of playing at Tardini. Im happy for that
Thanks to English football you had reached the Italy U21 Level
Yes I had already played 4 games with the U21 national team and in few weeks time I will be playing at Chieti. I hope that I will be called and that I will play.Rosina plays with you in the U21. Today you had won your duel with him Yes, Rosina is a dangerous player who is very difficult to stop. Thank God our defense had done very well in closing him all space to act.
Whats the difference between scoring a goal for Manchester United and scoring one for Parma?
There is no difference for me. The important thing is winning those 3 points.
Had you talked with SAF before leaving Manchester?
Yes and he had encouraged me telling me to go to Parma, do well and then return back next year.
Manchester United wanted to keep you, but at 20 you would want to play.
Yep at 20 you would want to play at all cost. At Manchester I wasnt playing enough and thats why I came to Parma.
Would you like to remain in the Serie A forever?
Im with Parma till June, I hope I play regularly and do well enough so that Parma remains in the Serie A.
Have you integreted well with Morfeo and Budan upfront?
Yes they are two great players and I feel really well with them. I hope everything remain like that. Ive been here for just 3 days and Im happy to have found players like Salvi, Dessena and Rossi who were my companions at youth level. I have to thank my companions for helping me settle down.
Pioli had given you licence to roam up front
Yes, Ive talked with the manager about my role before the game so that he can help me adapt in Parma's scheme.
How important is Morfeo for the tandem Budan Rossi?
He is very important. He has great experience and had helped the team keeping the possession of the ball expecially during the last 10 minutes.
Whats wrong with Parma at the moment?
Theres bad atmosphere in the dressing room.
Do you think that Parma can avoid relegation?
Yes it can. We are just a point away from Messina and Im sure that the club will remain in the Serie A
Three difficult games awaits you (Milan Roma and Fiorentina). What do you think?
Its going to be tough but we will do our outmost to win those matches. Lets think at one game at a time
We are surprised how you adapted so easily and your attitude. Youre so young and yet so mature.
Yes Im very happy but Im realistic
.
You had shown great technique and pace. Maybe its good for players to play during Christmas time like the English clubs usually do..
Yes. Its two different ways of interpreting football
Whats the difference in training in England and training in Italy?
As stated the Italian football is more tactical and technical, therefore training is more based on such characteristics.
When you play you feel that youre Italian or English?
I feel like Giuseppe Rossi
Whats youre favorite role?
I love to play upfront or as a striker or as a link man
Youre not afraid of getting stuck into the thick of the action. I mean Cioffi is 1 meter 90 cm tall.
In football you have to have loads of courage. Sometimes you anticipate your opponents and viceversa
You had scored in your debut in the Serie A as well as with Manchester United
You have to keep going on. Lets celebrate this win because next tuesday we have to think about our challenge against AC Milan
You had already played at San Siro with Manchester United
I was at San Siro but I havent yet played.
Are you afraid of AC Milan
No why should I? They have a great team but we can win them. We are going there to win that is just obvious.
Youll have to face Costacurta and Maldini who have the age of your father.
Its great to meet them face to face
At 19 you had already played 20 times in the EPL and had scored in your debut in Italy. What bag of experience will you take back in England?
The English football is different. Its more physical and pacey. The Italian football is more technical and tactical. Today we had played the English type of game and we had done very well. When you train with great champions like Scholes, Rooney and Ronaldo you learn a lot. Since Ive left Parma ive learnt alot.

“Ho pensato… a come avrei esultato.”
“Io scendo in campo e gioco come Giuseppe Rossi.”
“Assolutamente no, perché dovrebbe?

“Ho pensato… a come avrei esultato.”
“Io scendo in campo e gioco come Giuseppe Rossi.”
“Assolutamente no, perché dovrebbe?

Re: Parma: "We have Giuseppe Rossi"
From Goal.com
Ricochet Rossi’s Crusader Rescue Attempt Bearing a proud surname which has made history in Italian football, there’s more than a hint of déjà vu in what looks like an echo of Paolo Rossi’s epic leadership feat in 1982 World Cup in Spain.
However at the moment his main interest isn’t on scaling the heights but to help Parma to avoid the drop. It looks like Giuseppe Rossi is shouldering the burden and rising to the challenge the way he knows best: by scoring a lot of goals, but it looks like a passing visit as the Italian looks set to return to Manchester…
He’s back where it all began. He’s back at a club struggling to keep a Serie A status taken for granted only a few years ago.
A club which is also trying to come to terms with its financial troubles (we’ve already talked about that in another article, so we can only add that apparently there were no bids in the auction recently arranged to sell Parma and the saga continues…).
In fact, Rossi left Parma in 2004 to play at Old Trafford, “the theatre of dreams”. The reason was quite simple, Ferguson was absolutely convinced the young fellow could make an impact in English football.
As usual Sir Alex was right. In the youth team he was just pure class, netting the ball 42 times out of 49 games. So he didn’t have to wait too long for his first match in Premier League.
Rossi was only 18 when he played at Sunderland Stadium of Light last season. And guess what? He scored a goal! After that magic moment life wasn’t that easy, though. In the United pecking order Rossi was chickenfeed behind big names like Rooney or Van Nistelrooy, so he didn’t have those many chances to impress.
In the remainder of 2006 Ferguson sent him off to Newcastle on loan so he could play more often, but Glenn Roeder wouldn’t pick Rossi as much as the Wizard had expected. That’s why the New Jersey-born young talent has flown back to Parma for a six month loan.
That was a massive boost for Gialloblu coach Stefano Pioli, in hot water before last Sunday home game against Torino. Apparently if Parma had not won the management would have sacked him: Rossi to the rescue!
So Pioli has to be grateful to his gifted striker, as he scored the only goal of that tough match.
Rossi did it in marvellous style, as he skinned a couple of defenders and put the ball past a bemused keeper, assuring Parma’s first win in 10 games.
A clear sign Rossi has learned a lot from his training sessions with the likes of Rooney, Giggs and Ronaldo!
Maybe it’s too early to predict Rossi as new azzurri striker, but his skills are far from being ordinary, even though he’s slim and of medium eight (ok, he’s not the a Bobo Vieri replica, but maybe it’s the Italian version of Michael Owen, just to be slightly optimistic).
Recently appointed under 21 manager Pierluigi Casiraghi has already selected him for a couple of friendly matches, just to make sure he wouldn’t choose to play for the stars and stripes national team.
Rossi has got both American and Italian passports and before the last World Cup USA Manager Bruce Arena tried to convince him to cross the pond, failing to do so as Rossi feels as Italian as could be.
As Serie A is rusting like an Alfa Romeo rather than purring like a well-tuned Ferrari right now when it comes to the quality of play, it’s just a shame Rossi will not stay put for too long.
He’s got a contract with Manchester United until 2010, and he’s very likely to go back to England in summer time, as Ferguson firmly believe in him. As Rossi has declared himself a big Milan fan, the Rossoneri management could invest some money they’re ready to splash on Ronaldo contract to bring him to San Siro.
Red Devils are in a better shape than the Milanista devil, so that could remain just a dream, especially if AC Milan keep on ignoring the necessity of signing young players. In the meantime, let’s enjoy Rossi’s short spell in Italian Serie A.

Re: Parma: "We have Giuseppe Rossi"
Anyone know if Rossi is eligible for the UEFA cup?
I know Parma have got Braga in the next round and if they qualify will then play Spurs, which would be great to see.
