I'm personally glad we've finished all our games against them myself.

Carew could be a real handful and if O'Neil goes back to his formation from early season they could really cause all teams problems.

We still have to play them at Villa Park. Smiley

They were terrific at the beginning of the season so maybe with there new signings Young and Carew they can start to rejuvinate their form.

Maybe putting it altogether is a big ask for the rest of the season but they will be MUCH stronger next term.

Nah. Just another team to play Hyypia against Wink

Had their squad reassembling not been so ridiculously expensive... Maybe I'd have a bit more respect.

Young and Carew hardly strike fear into me to be honest.

They're both decent players but its not as if they've signed Kaka

Carew still PWNED Cannavaro though. I suppose he's MON's new Hartson though. He can't expect Young to be the Larrson, surely?

    I'm guessing he'll go back to 4-3-3.

With Young, Carew and one of Moore or Gabby as the front 3.

Villa manager Martin O'Neill on their 3-1 defeat to Liverpool:
"The players are downbeat and so they should be.
We've been well beaten by a very good side and we have to learn from it. Now we need to go on another unbeaten run. "

only reason Villa are doing bad is because of luke moores
    injury.
now he has changed his hole formation because of that.

I'm fairly sure Newcastle would have sold Milner for close to £10m

    Less of a rip off.

I would have Neil Cox as one of the biggest cunts ever.

Shittu is overrated by Watford fans, as is Demerit.

Doyley is shit, Mahon is average, Francis is shit, Powell is shit, Bangoura too raw, Henderson not clinical enough, Smith has no end product - I don't hype up anyone in a Watford shirt.

I just happen to think that Young is one of the best young English players out there and IMO will be better than Milner, Lennon etc.

I can see why Milner, Lennon should be worth more now but *with the attributes that he has coupled with his personality* I honestly think he will be much better than them.

    * ie - the stuff that made Les Ferdinand say that he can be England's answer to C.Ronaldo !!!!

Bit over the top but I get his point.

You would think so wouldn't you, but we came within a whisker of selling him to Villa for £4.5m in the summer. Yikes Doh

That was about £3m too much aswell, to be honest. But atleast he'd been playing more than 5 months of top level football at the time.

Ashley Young is costing you approximately the same as Kuyt cost us. And like Kimbo mentioned, you could have had Milner for just less than £5m - I'm sure if you'd have offered close to £7m they'd have taken your hand off.

with milner, i think it would just have gone against o'neill's principles to pay £7m+ for a player we had effectively signed in the summer for £4.5m - only for newcastle to back out about 5 mins before transfer window shut. i think he'd even done the medical and everything.
