If you don't score twice there or come out and twat them in the opening 20 minutes at OT I reckon you'll lose. I'm no Lille expert, but they're by far the most negative team I've watched in the CL the past two seasons (bare in mind I actually watched our away trip against Bordeaux Neutral).

If they score first in the home leg they'll probably just sit back for the rest of the tie and try to make sure you don't score. The more I think about, the more I can see a goalless draw in france and a score draw in OT taking them through.

I can't stand your lot, but a part of me wants you to win. After suffering those useless frog shites Bordeaux this season, it would be nice to see you twat the negative surrender monkeys. That doesn't mean to say I'll be supporting you though, nor does it rule out me being the first to take the piss if you lose Wink

Thing is I haven't got a clue about Lille as I haven't watched them this season.

I can only go on last season. They outplayed us in both games to be fair but we were a shower of shit in Europe and in France fielded a midfield consisting of Smith, Fletcher and Richardson. Yikes

They were a bit dirty as well, especially Tavardis the ex-Arsenal player who tried to smash Van Nistelrooy to peices and Giggs got a broken jaw as well in the game at Old Trafford.

Long as we get a result in France, I'll be pretty confident for the home leg.

Lille dont have a chance, and thats being kind. If they go defensive they will get killed. This is not smith ruud etc no speed no nothing. They go defensive neville and evra become midfielders, giggs and ronaldo become strikers and the goals will add up. <Ale>

Man u are much better this year compare to last year, and Lille are pretty much the same as last year (excepted that Keita might plat a game). So it will be a totally different story this time. Man u should win this game, especially with two of Lille best players missing for the first tie (Bodmer and Keita).

Not to mention elbowing Smith in the head, twice. How that man is still allowed to play football is beyond me. It's like watching Ben Thatcher on crack.

    lol!

We should win the game, lets hope they dont injure Ronaldo and kick Rooney until he lashes out and gets sent off. Well we have Vidic and maybe Heinze, who will definately give as good as they get. It will be a boring game, I think.

I think our team is pretty much decided apart from the main striker - Saha or Larsson.

I think I'd prefer Saha in the first leg myself.

Saha would also be my choice.

I would choose Heinze over Evra, as he is aggressive, taller and stronger and he's a dirty bastard as well. So will step in if Lille play dirty.

Too many goals, not enough passes to show what he's really like but the assist for Keita v Milan is sublime.

Along with Gerrard and Juninho he is the best player at playing furthest forward of a midfield 3 in a 4-5-1.

He only played 64 mins yesterday so may not be at his sharpest.

He'll just have to do you at Old Trafford.

Not totally sure on the back four but the midifeld and attack will probably be:

    ..........Cabaye.......Makoun

    ??????..........Bodmer...........Bastos

    ...............Odemwingie

Keita would play right wing but is obviously suspended for 1st leg.

Whatever you say about excuses - Bodmer not being fit for 1st leg and Keita being suspended is a huge advantage for Man U.

The midifeld 3 is very, very good though and Makoun and Bodmer have an almost telepathic understanding.

    Probably team :

Sylva - Chalmé, Tavlaridis, Plestan, Tafforeau (cap) - Cabaye, Makoun - Debuchy (or Obraniak), Bodmer, Obraniak (or Bastos) - Odemwingie.

Remember that this game will be played in Lens (50 km from Lille) with a capacity stadium of 35.000 persons. Last year, Lille beat ManU in St Denis Stade de France.

Lille, the 5th city in France, has no decent stadium... Sad

It's an old fashioned 20 000 seat stadium, that looks crap and poor. Normally Lille will have a 50 000 seat stadium in a few years so they won't have to play elsewhere. It's kind of funny that Lille is one of the major cities in France and they only have a capacity of 20 000, whereas their neighbor Lens, which is a village around 40 000 people have a stadium at least twice bigger than theirs Evil or Very Mad

I havent seen Keita play that often, but people here are talking about him like he is as good as Ronaldinho which he clearly isnt it. If he was playing he wouldnt make that much of a difference to the final result.

This is a golden opportunity for Ronaldo and Rooney to show that they can cut it at the highest club level.

Ronaldo's 0 goals tally in the CL does not bode well for his aspirations of being the best in the world. Despite stellar performances in the CL if he wants to spar with the likes of Ronaldinho he needs goals.

Rooney's goal drought since his hattrick against Fenerbahce have long provided detractors of the young prodigy with the ammunition to claim he can't cut it in Europe.

No disrespect to Lille but they are one of the weaker sides still in the CL and present a great chance for these two to shine and score.

I dont understand how they havent scored, its strange. I dont care if they dont score as long as we win, I mean Oshea and Richardson, who are average palyers have scored this season in the CL it doesnt make them good. I think if we beat Lille and actually play a big team (Barca/inter/madrid etc) they will show the world why they are touted as the 2 best young, European players.
