I would pick Schuster from those 4. Not sure whether it would be my preferred option, but not bad. Please no Koeman or Van Basten (even if he'll have better players to work with than at Holland).

various Spanish media report that Schuster is the number 1 target
http://www.sport1.de/de/sport/artikel_882562.html
sportbild recently claimed that Sven was Bayern's first choice
looks like Schuster will take over either Real or Barca then

yes, Otto. I believe that before your threads about Schuster on here, nobody had taken him into account, either at Barça or Real Madrid. Look at what you've done now!

Do neither Barca or Real believe if having a coach in charge for longer than a year?!
What a joke (more so Real).

Just go into Barca mode after Frank leaves...sacking 3/4 coaches in a season Stability is not so good for barca
Then when you have no succes again, Laporta will ask Cruyff for advise, he will advise you Been....And Barca will win there 3rd CL again

Maybe only Schuster from those, and to a certain extent possibly Koeman though toon h pointed out his problems in dealing with an ego-filled dressing room.
Scolari is the best option.

in italy they arent exactly keeping their coaches forever. also their is big demands for the two big clubs.you have to show results which means wining a trophy while doing it in style, and you have to do it in short time like a year or two.Resilient Il Fenomeno wrote:Do neither Barca or Real believe if having a coach in charge for longer than a year?!

He was a good player, won 3 Ballon d'Or's, scored twice in a Champions League final etc Club career: 218 goals in 280 games in 11 years (some marred by injuries) not bad
as a manager, he was rushed quickly as coach of the national team, 'smile to the cameras', propose a new 'philosophy' of picking players on form and dropping the old stars ... everyone was happy, then came the World Cup
he was exposed .. still hes only lost 2 games (Italy and Portugal) average teams
Hes previous job was head of 'Ajax Youth' now Frank de Boer is in charge .. he could do well at Ajax, he knows what is expected, learned under the likes of Sacchi, Cappello and Cruyff ... he can succeed as a club coach

Ok, I really should stop being so indecisive -- but now I'm sure, the next coach has to be van Gaal!

Ahh, LSR, good one - Juande Ramos, forgot about him. I wrote a few posts about him earlier in the season saying how IMO he would be a really good manager for us. Not as good as Rijkaard as handling a star-filled dressing room, but hey, I doubt anyone is as good as him at that.
New shortlist for me:
1. Juande Ramos
2. Scolari
3. Ten Cate/Koeman/Schuster

Fact: Del Bosque is better than Rijkaard at handling a star filled dressing room.
