Personally, a miss chance. Had some promise as a junior both at Benfica and at Portugal youth squads. Find it very average as off late, and the stint at Spartak did not help
Has a powerful shot (same as is brother Maniche), but that is all
(I must say that I have not looked too closely at him lately, but last week against Benfica he was rather innocuous)

Yea, he showed some promise earlier on, but that move to Russia really hurt him. He's dropped-off big time and hasn't been spoken of since really.

I saw a bit of him the other day, but he seems to have let his career pass him by...well, a better career.

What's this with Portugese players going to Russia and derailing their careers? Maniche, Costinhna....just money?

Pretty much. After winning the Uefa Cup & CL I guess they figured it was time to cash in...

Wasn't the worst move for Costinha as he's kinda old, but Maniche really should've been smarter. I guess when no one actually came calling, despite all the talk, he figured any move would be better than no move at all.

Shame really, when Maniche is in form he's a real midfield powerhouse.

Is it also unscruplous agents? Nuno Valente somehow got himself out of going to Moscow and came to Everton and he seemed to blame the agent for trying to trap him if I remember correctly.

Don't know anything about that really. I read something about an agent getting really good contracts for those that went, but nothing about them not having a choice. After being pushed out of Porto, Valente's agent may have tried to push Moscow on him I guess thinking he'd get a good percentage of the signing bonus or something like that.

And most people draw their own conclusions for that.

This season he's been playing really well, and scoring lots of goals. he seems to have got himself fit again.(At last.)

Hasn't he signed for Benfica, or was all that just really made-up paper talk?

I saw potential Wink He's had a great season, and hopefully gets the nod for the LB position.

He has lenty of fight, but I don't know if I want him starting... it's such a problem for us I'm not sure what's best. Really, it's a tough one. Ale
