According to the BBC's preview of today's FA cup tie, Middlebrough have played Man U 12 times in the last five years, and in those fixtures have beaten them five times, the same number Chelsea have managed in the period, and Chelsea have played one more game against them. Next up was Arsenal, with five in 17 games in the last five years (not including the penalty shoot-out win), then Liverpool (4 in 14) and Blackburn (4 in 13).

This would appear to make Middlesbrough the best side in the league against the current leaders. Coops should have this article tatooed on his back.

Probably not, we've beaten them twice(1 in the FA Cup and 1 in the league) and i think they've won all the other games.

I saw this statistic in a paper recently but I can't remember which. The most interesting statistic was Newcastle hadn't won against Man Utd in the last 12 games.

Boro have beaten us twice at the Riverside (3-0 and 2-1) but we've beaten them twice at the Bridge (both 3-0 I think).

They certainly have the best record against us in the Prem, but I think in all competitions it would have to be Liverpool (our meetings with Liverpool in the Jose era: Played 13; Won 6; Drawn 3; Lost 4)

Were all bigging Boro up yet you can tell they'll flop like a good old under dog.
