Copying batmans la liga post, an analysis of the top games in Serie A:

    Fiorentina 2-3 Inter
    Milan 2-1 Lazio
    Lazio 1-2 Palermo
    Roma 0-1 Inter
    Milan 0-2 Palermo
    Fiorentina 2-3 Palermo
    Milan 3-4 Inter
    Roma 3-1 Fiorentina
    Milan 1-2 Roma
    Palermo 1-2 Inter
    Fiorentina 1-0 Lazio
    Lazio 3-0 Roma
    Fiorentina 2-2 Milan
    Roma 4-0 Palermo
    Lazio 0-2 Inter
    --
    Inter 3-1 Fiorentina
    Lazio 0-0 Milan
    Palermo 0-3 Lazio
    Palermo 0-0 Milan

    Team……...P....W....D....L....GF....GA....PTS
    Inter…….....6....6.....0....0....15.....7......18
    Roma……....5....3.....0....2....9......6.......9
    Palermo…...7....3.....1....3....8..... 12......10
    Lazio…….....7....2.....1....4....8......7........7
    Milan…….....7....1.....3....3....8......11......6
    Fiorentina...6....1.....1....4....9......14......4

I think thats been the difference between Inter and Roma. Palermo have had two very different halfs, and Lazio have held theur own in their temperamental way.... while Milan and Fiorentina have been trerrible against top sides....

Which suggests that Inter should be able to manage Milan today, while Fiorentina need to beat Palermo if they want to qualify for the CL... clearly, Fiorentina are not ready yet for the CL...

As the above table suggested, Milan and Fiorentina again faltered against top teams...

FT Inter Milan 2 - 1 AC Milan
    FT Palermo 1 - 1 Fiorentina

    Updated table:

    Team……...P....W....D....L....GF....GA....PTS
    Inter…….....7....7.....0....0....17.....8......21
    Roma……....5....3.....0....2....9......6.......9
    Palermo…...8....3.....2....3....9..... 13......11
    Lazio…….....7....2.....1....4....8......7........7
    Milan…….....8....1.....3....4....9......13......6
    Fiorentina...7....1.....2....4....10....15......5

Another interesting observation is that Roma still have the most number of tough games left... plus CL duties.... I seriously doubt a late charge now. I think after today, the scudetto is won.... we might as well order the new jerseys for next season with the badge Wink

Yes, The Scudetto is Inter's for sure now. Milan will just grab fourth spot. Sad

We can still make the top 6...obviously we are outsiders...

You cannot rule out Empoli either....

The Top 6 look pretty strong, Samp will mostly likely finish just outside.

What I love about this Inter is that we have won all 7 of our BIG games so far.... won all, thats so cool.

I am sure 20 years from now I will be telling my kids about this season! (Unless they turn out to be Milan or Juve fans, in that case I would ve probably disowned them Wink )

I am actually surprised by Milan's lack of success against the top teams this season... while it does say a lot about how stronger teams like Fiorentina and Lazio are compared to last season, Ii think its also down to Milan's inability to score against quality defences this season... you guys are really missing Sheva. Maybe Ronaldo will help in this regard...

Ive been so impressed with Lazio this season, the Biancocelesti have become a formidable force under Rossi despite losing so many paleyers. With the best defensive record and so many good youngsters (especially with the return of Foggia) i just hope they can go from strength to strength next season.
