A few mins away from a win today...

Looks like Pads has installed some kind of belief amongst the players who looked v lacklustre before his arrival.

    I really hope so.

I think it may be too late though. They should have appointed a better replacement after Curbishley left.

They do look like they are up for the fight though.

Yeah that period under Les Reid was awful, if they were to get relegated they would have some decent players on sale.

4 points away and they still have Wigan and Sheffield United to play.

    They'll make it.

No, don't be fooled by the result today, they didn't play well.

they definately CAN stay up in that they have the potential to do so.

I still don't think they will, Sheff Utd have quite a few easy games still to come, you gotta look at the fixture lists

having said that though Charlton do look like they've got the wind in their sails at the moment, it definately could be done

    Fair enough.

But at this moment in time they just need to grind our results to stay up.

In a relegation battle its more about points than peformances tbh. As long as you can grind out a win or draw, mainly avoid defeat, its a good result.

They did against Man United, West Ham and the second half against Watford though.

Pardew has obviously got them playing better football.

Today they played like a team that was already relegated. Luckily for them they were playing the only team in the league that can dominate for most of a game, not score, then bend over towards the end. I just can't see that team getting out of this. <Ale>

We are not over and out either...we have Boro at home next week and should win. If Sheff Utd lose the gap will be closed to 5 points...
