Imagine the possibility of winning everything.

Imagine the closeness of the squad.

Imagine having a manager who sticks up for his players against the tabloid press.

Imagine having a manager who just doesn't know when he's beaten.

    Imagine there's no heaven,
    It's easy if you try,
    No hell below us,
    Above us only sky.

He's the most effective manager in the world. Almost guarantees results. Depends on the style of the club. Would be perfect for a team like Milan but might buckle with a team like Real.

I would never want him at Man U. Ever.

Hes a passionate coach which believes in the notion of 'never say die and its not over until the whistle is blown'

He does the 'media' mind games to deflect the pressure away from his players which shows he cares ..

I dont know if the Real fans would want him, Cappelo was getting booed of for wining 1-0 in a Chelsea like performance.

He is a great manager, but no offence I dont think I would want his brand of football at OT.

Not so sure about top class intelligence. However your humorous approach means you wont suffer the shame of selling Totti t-shirts in Thailand and being ridiculed by every poster on the message board, like a cettain Roma/Totti zealot.

I really like Mourinho, he is a class act! Loads of personality - the good with the bad, excellent tactician, winning mentality.

But at Inter, Mancio rulez!!! So I am going to pass.

I would only because he is the way he winds up Rijkaard/Barcelona is hilarious.

If I was 100% certain he would get us results, I would say come on. But supposedly (as someone else mentioned) Capello was 100% certain to get us results and that hasn't worked out.

this season has shown that not even the best are sure bets when it comes to madrid. he would get a different kind of pressure to the one he has faced. its very hard to work when he will be hated before he even gets to the club.

its different to what happens in england. people will have a hard time giving him any praise. cappello is prob the most stubborn man in football but he has still been affected by it. if mourinho is smart he wont try to take over madrid.

I think that Mourinho is a top top manager and man, the main thing for me that is why most Liverpool fans despise the man is his childish wind ups, let's be honest He hates Liverpool, he has never been able to take the fact that Liverpool went on to the final in 2005 through that Garcia goal, he always has little comments to make about Liverpool although he does it discretely, he would love nothing better than to knock Liverpool out of Europe this season, that's for sure

50/50, if in a couple of years Fergie retired and he was free it'd be very tough to turn down.

He has shown at Chelsea and Porto his teams can play good football, just not often enough for my liking.

He is one of the best managers in the game these days, there is no doubt about that. However, a manager is not just about getting results for his club, he represents the club as well. That's why I would never want him to represent my club, no matter how successful he would be. Results are not everything, at least not for me.

Class is about character foremost, and I simply dislike his arrogant character. Arrogance is and always will be a sign of weakness in my eyes. Call me old fashioned, but I'm all about principles and sticking to them, I try my best at least.

The other Spanish posters are right, in Spain he would face a different kind of media pressure. It's not so easy to close ranks and protect your players and take all the heat. All the big Spanish papers have insider access to the players, boardroom, and backroom staff and can get info that Mourinho can do nothing to stop.

Plus in England there aren't papers that are blatantly biased one way or another ALL the time. Generally they have a consensus on most issues. Example - most of them hate Chelsea's spending but like Mourinho as a fun manager, etc. In Spain, every comment he makes will be interpreted two ways - by the Barcelona press (Mundo Deportivo and SPORT) and the Madrid press (Marca and AS).

As for my answer to the original question:

As a Newcastle fan, Id obviously welcome Mourinho, but I think he guarantees success for whichever club he goes to. Its not just his ability to motivate, to bring a team together and to keep the pressure off his team, the latter of which he does better than anyone and often at what seems like the perfect time. Hes also so good tactically. From the sounds of it he prepares his teams very well, has a vast knowledge of other teams and players. The number of times he has made changes at half time this season, changes which have changed the game and led to Chelsea victories, the way he seems to be able to perceive just what the balance of play is and what needs to be done to get the advantage, for me is outstanding.

Personally, I like his character. He has a supreme self confidence which, in my view, rarely comes across as arrogance and when it does, and when he does wind people up or make outlandish comments, its always for a clear purpose (which nevertheless works), often somewhat tongue in cheek and it at least tends to be more amusing or original than what you hear from most managers.
