I'm 1/2 Polish so i'd like to see those two get it

The Ukraine may struggle though, people really underestimate how poor that country is having only recently broken out of the shackles of communism

i hope italy gets it so they can finally do something with the stadiums and make teh safety better so when i visit i will be allowed to see a match. its a good opportunity to undo what was done wrong at WC 90.

    agree with Crouching

the fact that Italy are still on the list is a farce

the corruption scandals and crowd problems should easily put them out of contention

joint hosting is a bad compromise but the only way countries like Poland or the Ukraine will ever get a shot

Otto - i know what you're thinking, but its not the same as with players. If it goes to Poland you still won't be able to 'naturalise' the competition to Germanny.

    Croatia/Hungary

Big countries shouldn't be allowed to host these tournaments at the moment if their are suitable other candidates. Once we've saturated the smaller nations we can go back to the super powers.

    no, it doesn't

you can solve the problem by only allowing Spain or England to compete every second tournament, you know, alternating

neither team contribute anything anyway, and have about as much chance reaching even the SEMIS as KNUT ever seeing a real Iceberg

If I may voice my humble opinion, I'm afraid I don't like any of the bids at all.
Like many I don't think Italy should be awarded the Euros, but then I don't like joint bids either. Plus, when you look at the Croatia/ Hungary and Poland/ Ukraine bids, I just think they are nit good enough for a Euro. For example, Croatia/ Hungary has 5 out of 8 stadia with a running track. Besides there are problems with external requirements for the stadia (parking, media) and quality hotels. Dito for Poland/ Ukraine.

surprised spain haven't gone for it. been a while since they hosted - or are they going for the 2018 world cup?

i reckon it'll go to hungary/croatia. the poland and hungary bids are probably splitting the votes, but once one is eliminated, the other could pick up the votes to beat italy.

i don't mind joint bids, it's the only chance some countries will have to host. at least that 4 country nordic one didn't win the other time - that would've been excessive

Stop slagging us off you bunch of fucks!

It doesn't matter about the situation...perhaps hosting a tournament like this would improve all the goings on in the country.

Joint bids are stupid...if there is a joint bid from Ukraine/Poland this means there should be no more Eastern Europeans (Ban Germany from the competition...not like they entertain us or would be a big miss...though easy to beat)

    4-1....0-2 Laugh

The stuff about Germany is just a wind up, incase anyone gets on their high horse.

A major tournament without Germany is worthless, that's why it (almost) never happens.

It's true...I actually would hate the big nations to not qualify...but as long as England and Italy are there I'm happy Very Happy

The tournament needs these teams, and I have to say Germany is one that is a MUST. France can however fuck off and won't be missed

I actually agree (not with the France part). I always want all of the major nations to qualify, especially our archrivals Holland and England. Holland bottling the WC qualificaion in 2002 was funny, but it shouldn't happen too often. We need them for the atmosphere, and it really is about time that we meet them in the knock out stages of a major tournament again. The same can be said about England.

So don't fuck up the qualification islanders.
