this place is eerily quiet

Monday lunchtime, with truckloads of "end of season" games to discuss

CL Semis a day or two away

and yet

NOTHING

at this rate the summer holidays are going to finish this forum off

even I, usually so monogamous, am starting to develop a wondering eye

the step from oogling to googling is a very small one

Otto is only interesting in winding up the English with his nonsense stories, he doesn't give a damn about football. He only started this thread because he needs new victims : we've all seen him do his Lord Haw Haw routine so many times now that no one is falling for it anymore.

If you want more activity Guildo, I suggest you start posting something serious and constructive about football...

Its not the Admins and Mods jobs to advertise the place, everyone as a responcibilty to do that.

Are you suprised this place is more quiet? The sun is shining and a good chunk of this board has exams to revise for and assignments due in over the next month or so.

If you think this is bad wait until June/ July comes around. When there will be no International Tournaments (Except Copa America) that posters will be watching will interest. Its only natural.

but IMHO, there must be about a million alternative boards out there

I have thought of scaling down my online activities substantially anyway and the current state of the board is making that EXTREMELY easy

has nothing to do with having no life or Lord Haw Haw; the point of a board is discussion, analysis, banter and at the moment there is very little thereof

I think I have pulled my weight on here so far, but all good things come to an end

Yeah, fair enough, but you know well enough, that as the de facto leader of the board you will be the focus of not only the plaudits, but the concerns of the board, when people expect something to be done, they look to you to do it.

I personally don't think it's such a big deal. We've all been spoiled a bit by 606, where at any given time (when they were open) there'd be a constant stream of posts and posters always online. Problem with that was there was a lot of repetition and hollow windups. Here the old cliche quality over quantity does hold. And when you think about it, it's really not that bad. The posters here are so diverse and global that no matter what time of day you come on, there's always something new to read.
