Turkish Super League Empty Turkish Super League

Post by republicoffenerbahce Fri Sep 21, 2007 1:35 am

i want to inform you 'bout turkish super league by this topic.

as an intro; i want to present you about teams of tsl.

there are three important teams in istanbul. fenerbahce, besiktas and galatasaray. these are rival teams but the biggest rivality is fenerbahce vs. galatasaray.

fb has 17, gs has 16 and besiktas has 10 titles in turkish super league. we call them "three bigs".

there are only 4 teams took the title in super league history. fourth team's name is trabzon. it's a seaboard city in blacksea which is north of country.

other important teams of the league are kayseri, bursa, genclerbirligi and gaziantep. They randomly can be in title challenge.

other teams are; sivas, istanbul municipality(istanbul), kasimpasa(istanbul), ankaragucu(ankara), ankaraspor(ankara), manisa, denizli, oftas(ankara), rize and konya.

if you have questions i can answer.

Welcome to the board; we don't have any (that I know of) posters who know the Turkish league so this is good.

Question -- how is Roberto Carlos doing in Turkey?

he is magnificient. he plays as he is 20 years old young player. he scored 1 goal in 5 weeks. it's third heading goal in his career. there are lots of brasilian player in fenerbahce's team squad and rc is a big idol for them. so they are trying to make the best performance with him. left back position was one of the biggest problem in fenerbahce before rc signed to fb contract.

He scored with his head?!?!?!?!?!?! Glad he is playing well for you. Maybe he needed a change of scenery and some new challenges to revive him because he was a liability for us much of the last three years.

Congrats on beating Inter, that is a very big 3 points for you if Fenerbahce are going to qualify for the 1/8 finals of the CL.

it's good to be in first 3 in group stage for us. but if we can make the same play again, we would be in 1/8 finals. i trust zico's tactical knowledge.

What do you think of Besiktas' chances against Liverpool, Marseille, and Porto? Probably very tough for them to qualify.

Also, you must be happy that Galatasaray lost in the UEFA Cup today!

besiktas made a new team and they don't have a big european experience. first match against marseiller is very bad start for them because they will fight for second place with marseiller. they cannot do anything against Liverpool. Liverpool can win 4 or 6 points from besiktas. so hard days are waiting for besiktas in CL.

and yes. sion made a good surprise for us.

Welcome to the board mate, yeah Besiktas were unlucky cos Faty should have been sent off for Marseille for that stamp.

How has Kezman been doing for you since he signed ?

With Lincoln and Nonda signing for Galatasary do you consider them a bigger threat to your title than last year?

Kezman shows his worst performance in his career. we are thinking that if he is really Batman or an imitation.

Lincoln is very good signing for galatasaray but we have Alex in the same position who scored over 60 goals for four years. Nonda seems very good for first 2 matches but we have to see that if he can make the same performance continously.

Thanks for congrats about our Inter victory. I hope we can take 2 points from PSV. Inter's challange is very important for group table.

    Welcome fella.

I want to ask you about the Turkish National Side.

    What happened???

1996 - euro 96, Turkey seem to be on the up.

2002 - Turkey are now one of the best sides in the World, play some great stuff, unlucky versus Brazil.

Then between 2002 and to date, its been a slow slide downwards.

I sincerely believed post 2002 that Turkey would be a heavyweight of World Football- big football mad population, but so far its not happened.

can you tell me why? Is the future bright for Turkish football? I remember your u17s /21s sides not so long ago being strong. Will we see Turkey a permanent fixture in future International competitions?

    Over to you <Ale>

Turkish Youth Teams are not in a systematic education and training program. So the generations fix the success. Team of 96 and 02 are both in the same line. But now our squad has changed too much.

The other problem is the structure of Turkish Football Federation. Board of Federation has some mafiatic and political relationships and Fatih Terim is the most important actor of this ugly relationships.

So it's hard to say good or bad about the future of Turkish national football. Who cares it? Club teams are more important than national team from my point of view.

They only lost 1-0, 1-0 and 3-0 as well and it wasn't that long before that we stuck 8 past them away from home so on the the up but $h!t.

Exactly. Its weird to think there was a time when England were tonking Turkey 8-0, I think it was in late 80's wasnt it?

So over such a short period of time, to then come 3rd at WC2002, I sincerely thought they were going to become another superpower of football.

Seems, at the moment, that it might be the same story as what happened with Croatia circa 96-98 : a generation of talented players all churned out at the same time.

Croatia look to be rediscovering themselves. Surely its only a matter of time before the turks do too? Or was it really just a flash in the pan?

I liked them immensely in 2002- they were probably the most entertaining team at that WC. I'll never forget that fella flicking the ball over Cafu's (?) head in the Brazil group stage game; such pieces of skill were pretty rare that year

tuncay took his place in national team.

He is right choise because his relationship with Turkish Football Federation board is very well. So he can manage his board and there is no problem between them.

If you ask it about football mentality. There is no extra action that comes from Fatih Terim.

His ethical mentality is not acceptable for limits of sports and fair play. But these are must for a National Team Coach.

While he was getting big success with Galatasaray, he was only focused on football. But now his focus is on managerial materials and his managing power on people.

I suggest an experienced coach who is not coming from Turkish Football.

Essence of Turkish Football is made by Sepp Piontek before 1992. We need a coach like him.
