Last night he managed to stress the Peru defence much more in 15 minutes than Torres managed at all..

People are forgetting that he did well at Ciudad de Murcia before he was moved to Getafe. IMO he should definitely start as given we'll be playing with the jugones we'll have tonnes of posession, but we need someone who will get on those crosses - something which neither Torres nor Villa offer.

    re Joaquin
I think an a big target-man in the Urzaiz/Dani/Llorente mould would have been a more important addition to the squad. I can see us conceding a cheap goal in the knock-outs and trying to pass the ball into the net.

I agree with Ole, I remember Guiza was on course for a possible Pichichi in that season with Getafe, except they were of course a bit of a defensive team under Schuster (that's the time Guiza was there, right?) and towards the late stages of the season Guiza never played because of some fallout.

I guess he's one of those Inzaghi types - won't dazzle you with skills or technique, but scores bucketloads by good positioning and good finishing.

What's the problem with Torres? Why does he struggle so much against defenders with 100+ IQ? We were missing three starting defenders in Vargas, Acasiete, Guizasola, but their subs are horrible in comparison. And yet they managed to decipher every one of Torres' moves and runs. He wasn't fooling them, outpacing them at all. Nothing, Nada, Zilch, Zero!

I'm a little concerned about Spain with the Euro just around the corner. We were missing our very best players SIX of them, and this was basically a team that only had three days of practices. We NEED the return of Farfan, Vargas, Pizarro, Acasiete, Zambrano, Guizasola, Hinostroza, Perez, and Lobaton to the team in order to beat Colombia and Uruguay in two weeks.

I was shocked to see how Torres was stopped by Peru's subs, although I already knew that any defender with the most basic defensive skills can have Torres in his pockets. That's why Torres didn't do shite in La Liga. He had lots of hype there, but some of us know better. Biggrin <Ale>

After last night there is no question that Guiza should play. even if he doesnt have the best tecnique or whatever he has provides an arial and physical threat that none of the other strikers do. Carzola also impressed me. allthough i like Iniesta perhaps it wouldnt be bad to use Carzola in his place because unlike Iniesta he balances it out more in his style instead of constantly cutting in and letting Ramos take the flank.

Yo Puro what was up with the Peru players last night? they seemed hell bent on getting at least one spain player injuried, Inca Warriors eh? Very Happy

Guiza caused more problems the few minutes he played than Torres. Cazorla did fine, but so did Iniesta. I think Aragones will stick with Iniesta, but who knows. Yep, some of them were a little too rough on the Spanish for my liking as well. Were they trying to kick the shite out of them for the stolen Inca Gold? lol! <Ale>

I'm glad Capdevila scored the winner at the death. We were just AWFUL, I know we were missing KEY PLAYERS, but a draw would've motivated the Peruvian media to write a lot of shite, a lot of hype. We know better. <Ale>

I'm looking forward to seeing La Roja annihilate the Incan Warriors - again.

Biggrin There won't be any Huaylas, Chachapoyas, Jaujas providing tremendous support to the Spanish, so I won't be surprised if the Inca Warriors are victorious in Spain. Final score, España 1-2 Perú

You heard it here first! Biggrin <Ale>

Perú's problems are well documented, EVERYONE knows "the problem", but the culprits don't want to leave the FPF no matter what. I think some of those fuckos will get killed sooner or later. Here's hoping we lose to Colombia in two weeks! Biggrin

Now "soccer" in the USA is a young sport trying to find its niche. I am surprised the USA has done relatively well internationally considering the sport is the 5th most popular in the country. The future is bright, very bright! Your man Beckham is helping lots here with the kids. <Ale>

Why are England so shite? all the money in the world, the fans, the stadia? No Euro wins let alone a WC trophy. At least we have TWO Copa América trophies. Biggrin <Ale>
