It looks like Raul won't be called up - but Luis Garcia (of Espanyol) is. Albiol will be called up to replace Pablo, Arbeloa for Pernia and Riera might be called up.

    Spain squad
Goalkeepers: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid CF), Pepe Reina (Liverpool FC).

Defenders: Pablo Ibáñez (Club Atlético de Madrid), Mariano Pernía (Club Atlético de Madrid), Carles Puyol (FC Barcelona), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid CF), Carlos Marchena (Valencia CF), Joan Capdevila (Villarreal CF), Raúl Albiol (Valencia CF)

Midfielders: Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal FC), Andrés Iniesta (FC Barcelona), David Silva (Valencia CF), Xavi Hernández (FC Barcelona), David Albelda (Valencia CF), Miguel Ángel Angulo (Valencia CF), Joaquín (Valencia CF), Albert Riera (RCD Espanyol)

Forwards: David Villa (Valencia CF), Fernando Torres (Liverpool FC), Luis García (RCD Espanyol)

Decent sqaud. But I would have taken Lopez over Pernia, and Jarque over Marchena. Raul Garcia deserves a place too in the side.

RG Has been quite superb for us so far, Antnoio has not been starting for us so no way LA will pick him ahead of Pernia, but i don' get why on JA part

Good squad...I think we'll see a standard lineup with Albelda-Xavi-Iniesta-Silva in midfield and Villa-Torres in attack. Defense will have Ramos-CB-Puyol-LB, and two others. Doubt he'll start Albiol so I'm guessing Marchena as CB and Capdevila as the LB.

Really don't want Puyol to play the full 90 of both games though.

David Silva - massive fan of this player.

Say this every goddam year: on paper, Spain's midfield is as good as any out there. Including Brazil's/Argentina's etc.

Each and everytime I scratch my head at how they manage to underperform at every tournament.

They've lost me countless amounts of Euro's in bets. "This year, this year". Gonna bet on them again this Euro Championships- its like repeatedly using the same lottery numbers; the day you dont put a bet on with them is the day they come up and you lose millions

Plus Iniesta has also been equally fantastic this season, so he will start in the attacking midfield position, if Aragones doesn't play Joaquin and a standard 4-4-2.

I never knew Fabregas had gained 19 Caps for Spain. Yikes

Iniesta obviously deserves a place in the XI after an explosive start. Why only three forwards?

Not really many others to call up. Spain has a glut of central midfielders so that's what Aragones emphasises in his lineups.

Strange no Puyol, guess it's a fitness thing. Strange midfield with 3 similar players, and just 1 striker and 1 winger. Somehow Cesc will have to continue with his goals at international level too.

Good to see Albiol start though.

Can't blame him though. The Madrid press campaign to get Raul back in the Spanish team has been pathetic. Nevermind the fact that Raul has been Cr@p for 3 years and after playing some good games in the start of the season, he's given nothing but average performances in the last 4 weeks. Of course, the Madrid press will tell you that since he gave 2 assists in the last 2 games he's been on sublime form Whistle

Yeah thanks, I read that but I never trust Marca or any other Spanish paper with these things. Whenever a coach has a training session with a specific lineup they print a story saying that they know the starting lineup. Wouldn't be surprised if this is the lineup in the end of course.
