Drenthe really is 2 classes better than anyone else on the pitch Ale

If there would have been no Olympics I'm sure he would have gone to the EC.

Maybe no-one else. I don't like a Makaay-Sibon partnership. Otherwise 1 of the attacking mids, taking De Haan Heerenveen biass into account it will not be Beerens, so De Guz or Bruins.

I was thinking the same (not playting both Sibon & Makaay) ok

We still have Bakkal & Aissati IIRC...

I don't like our back four bar Marcellis.

I'd play Hiariej for Zuiverloon and Jong-a-Pin or maybe Janmaat for Pieters.

It's obvious we're missing an out and out striker / finisher in this team (Amrabat is playing completely out of position) : Makaay is gonna do so much damage in Beijing Shocked

Haven't got a clue who're the best fullbacks. Only see most of them 2 matches a season. As usual I don't rate the/a Dutch defence. Having said that they conceded zero goals in 5 qualifiers so far. Problem will be is that the opposition at the Olympics will be much stronger.

We should build (the attacking part of) our team around Makaay, i.e. play De Guz & Bruins, who know his running lines & when & how he wants the ball passed to him.

Would only be important if we're gonna switch to 4-4-2 instead of 4-3-3.

Bruins & De Guzman are too much alike for my taste, I'd replace one by Aissati.

Beg to differ. The LM & RM are the players closest to Makaay in 4-3-3 midfield pointing forward.

Let Aissati play (witdrawn) right winger in stead of Beerens (will not happen)

    Dunno about them.

Makaay is most dangerous with his lateral runs. That will lead to most chances if he's played in exactly right. The wingers will reach the 'backline' only a few times a match. The other passes (when he making those angled lateral runs) are far more important.

We don't have a 4-3-3 striker (not a 4-4-2 one either), Lens is probably the closest thing we've got.

I'd like Foppe to try out this team once :

    Velthuizen

For some reason this happens way too often to us.

First time the Swiss take a shot at goal : goal Doh

About time for a wakeup call though ok

Pieters cam flying by for the first tackle, who were the two defenders after that who only looked at the Swiss player : Zuiverloon & Donk ?
