Relegation threatened teams Blackburn and Wigan are both leading 1-0 in their home games against Bolton and Everton.

Villa also 1-0 up away to West Brom through an O.G.

Stunning goal from Sandro gives Spurs the lead. Probably against the run of play, although Spurs have looked dangerous going forward at times.

I thought Sandro's shot took a slight deflection, but it was really well struck - yet when he ran to Redknapp to celebrate, Redknapp simply lectured him on neglecting his defensive responsibilities. Is that good man-management? Couldn't Redknapp have at least smiled and thanked Sandro for his goal before explaining, gently, some of the other things required of him? Couldn't he have told Sandro that, because of his goal, he loved him and wanted to keep on loving him, even if the neglect of his defensive duties saw their relationship torn apart?

A Gomes blunder sees Chelsea equalise - though replays suggest that, after pushing the ball through his own legs, Gomes actually recovered to prevent the ball entirely crossing the line.

btw, interesting that in the first 10 mins we saw both Malouda and Essien dive to win free kicks, and for the goal incident we saw half the Spurs team crowd the linesman and swear and scream at him. Where's the condemnation? Rolling Eyes

A fair play moment from Terry as well in that incident - his momentum took him off the pitch but he made sure to roll back on it. But just like Alves and Busquets, at least it's not a surprise because we know he's a c**t.

If Man Utd had won a game, any game, let alone one against a team challenging for the top four, with those two goals, then Puro, POLR, Louise, Pierre etc. would be all over this thread like shingles, spreading their allegations of conspiracy and corruption.

But once again, when any side other than Man Utd is the recipient of 'fortunate' decisions that alter the pattern and result of a game, they are nowhere to be seen. It couldn't possibly be because they have an agenda that is not all about the fairness of refereeing, could it...?

Gutted. Completely gutted. A 2-1 loss to chelsea at Stamford Bridge is no disgrace, but given how it came to pass makes it very hard to accept.

It was not a dirty game at all so no idea why Kas is trying to liken this to the recent el clasico. Ive got nothing against Chelsea, their players or their performance; I'm just so hacked off that in a game where - Gomes cock up aside (which in fairness he redeemed before the ball went over the line) we actually defended well enough that Chelsea really struggled to break us down, we ve lost once again away at one of the Big 4. I have now lost count the number of calls that have gone against us away from home at the big 4.

4th is now definitely gone. And yet before the farcical linesman got involved 45 minutes in it wad very much on, despite already playing with 10 men given how utterly useless Pav was (all season we ve pretty much had no striker of note so its no surprise we re now out of the top 4).

On a side note, Puro seems to continually tow the line that the premier league and refs are in collusion to hand the Mancs and Slur Alex the title. Wonder how he explains them handing Chelsea the chance of potentially overhauling them? I honestly hope Chelsea do manage it , so at least someone benefis from this result, cos we certainly didn't Ale

Also, love how Sky were chatting on about how that "goal" evens things out for Lampard after the world Cup one. What the fuck? Why is that even being mentioned, as though it's okay then, cos Lamps has got his redemption- both were incorrect , monumentally retarded calls, the one at the world cup was about 2 yards over the line and yet the linesman and ref claimed not to have seen it, the one today wasn't over the line, the linesman calls it yet is in no position to make the call.

That Lampard was involved is far less relevant than the fact both are examples to show why a simple camera on the line which the ref can refer to saved everyone wasting their breath debating it ad nauseam afterwards.

Chelsea have been getting 'lucky' decisions consistently since their game against ManYoo. Not that United have been 'unlucky' in that time, but Chelsea are the only team with a prayer of challenging for the title, despite their horrible mid season blip.

We certainly got the better of the refereeing today. There was perhaps a fairly strong case for a penalty (Corluka on Malouda?) but Spurs definitely got the worst of the decisions. Surprised how calm 'Arry was in his reaction to it, although that may have something to do with the fact that it was Lampard who scored the goal and 'Arry "knows the fella" very well.

Looking forward to his next Sun column though. I wonder what the topic will be based on.

It was Kaboul on Malouda I think, and although he got the ball from what I saw, he did take the man and was coming in slightly behind so yeah, whilst I don't reckon it was a pen, I've seen worse given.

'Arry was quite gracious about it almost certainly for the reasons you've given Laughing

You better win the league now because the only thing that will come of this game today will be man city getting 4th. As much as I like Goater, it kills me to see then up there with their cuntish team of mercenaries and defensive pussy football minded coach.

Irrelevant, because it wasn't a goal. Or, because he fumbled the ball it's ok to give an own goal where there wasn't one, just as Lampard deserved to be given it because he didn't get one in the World Cup? IS IT?

For your info, I've always said Gomes was a liability so I assume your comment is actually aimed at TS

this game needed a winner, a draw was no good to either side and would have pretty much ended the season at the top half of the table. Spuuuuuuurs have had their share of luck this year too and I'm sure if you'd offered 'arry a narrow, controversial defeat before the game he would have taken it.

And so I endorse this result.
