Re: Championship & Football League
Smashing it at the moment. Come back from 1-0 down after a couple of mins(penalty)......win 3-1
Goals for Robson..Haroun(debut, apparently very impressive)...and Martin with an absolute scorching strike, also apparently very impressive.
Great stuff.

Re: Championship & Football League
Well..Mowbray does seem to have got things going really well. We seem fairly solid at the back, but we still keep nearly throwing it away in pretty much any game where we're up by 1..even yesterday in literally the last 30 seconds we let a Palace play go clean through 1 on 1 and he just happened to blow it.
I think we've got a good chance assuming no injuries to the likes of Emnes..but I can't see him keeping up his form all season and we usually enter a shit storm around christmas time. If we manage to make the playoffs it would be great work.

Mowbray always struck me as a very decent manager. Celtic expected too much, but at Brom he was the don

Re: Championship & Football League
Celtic fans needed patience.
They would have taken a back seat to Rangers for a couple of years* whilst the players get used to his style but they would be taking a step back before going 2 steps forward.
Mowbray's footballing style would see them better equipped for Europe - ie they would be able to keep the ball to take the sting out of their opponents when away from home (celtic are terrible away from home in Europe).
Now they just have a Mr Motivator or a shit MON if you like.
* They are doing that anyway which just goes to show how moronic and short-sighted Old Firm fans are.

If McClaren gets the chop it's not a good look for the ErieDivisie. Or Martin Jol for that matter.

Surely no club will be stupid enough to give him the manager's job again? Back to being a first team coach...

Dunno..if he's resigned and not been sacked. I do recall him being unhappy with lack of investment or something, maybe he got screwed.

Re: Championship & Football League
I read somewhere (albeit a Twitter source) that he's resigned because the club have no money to pay him if they sacked him...so at least he did the honourable thing (probably didn't have much choice).
But yeah, you could be right - another story on Twitter is that he asked for 2 loan signings a few days ago, but was turned down by the board.

Bounced back from our dicking off Southampton at the weekend. 1=3 vs Doncaster.
Have to give it to Billy Sharp though
2 day old son died 3 days ago, didnt play at the weekend, played tonight..captained the team and scored a goal.

Re: Championship & Football League
'boro v Watford on telly
I thought we'd get 0 pts from Peterborough (H), Brighton (H) and 'boro (A) but 6 out of 6 so far.
I can't see us getting anything today though despite 'boro drawing a few at home - I expect a defeat and an Emnes goal but hope we'll avoid a televised spanking.
