    The current league table:

    http://www.fifa.com/associations/association=rus/nationalleague/standings.html

The season restarts at the beginning of March due to the rescheduling of the league which will see it start in the Autumn and finish in the spring like the other top leagues in Europe; La Liga,Serie A and The Bundesliga etc. This will no doubt help Russian Clubs in the CL.

    Breaking news:

The richest club in the world Anzhi Makhachkala have signed Guus Hiddink!

did you know that in the UK, 'worms' is shorthand for enterobiasis. A parasitic disease common in children, whose primary symptom is itching in the anal area?

Would you be able to point Mr worms in the direction of a helpful website with handy hints for easing the symptoms of such a condition, Glenn?

In ode to another cash rich club, anyone fancy joining the "Team Hiddink / Anzhi" bangwagon?

    Benefits:
1 Supporting a club three hundred and thirty three percent richer than your current one (probably)
2 Feel vindicated that you spotted the potential of a team that has nothing to do with being able to spend the equivalent GDP of the entirety of Africa
3 Gleefully make references to "progress" (see point 2)
4 Be able to say you truly sympathise with their supporters for having not won any major honours in the last 100 years (whilst ignoring the fact this is what has befallen 95% of other football clubs who aren't on the global armchair fan's favourites list...who cares though!)

Are they a lot richer than City? Roberto Carlos had an interview in Marca the other day and said if Anzhi wanted they could pay Messi's buyout clause tomorrow. Shocked

I would but I already support the Mighty Zenit.

And yes Anzhi are meant to be richer but am not sure by how much, several clubs in Russia are owned by Billioaires/Oil Companys and they already have strong sides like CSKA Moscow,Spartak Moscow,Dynamo Moscow,Lokomotiv Moscow,Rubin Kazan etc.

Zenit for example are owned by a oil and gas company called Gazprom,"Gazprom own 76% of Zenit’s shares."

If you want to know how rich they are then read this :

"If you take Gazprom’s market capitalisation (the value of each share multiplied by the number of shares in existence), as of Thursday morning the company is valued at £105bn - and that’s before you add in the company’s many offshoots and subsidiaries. That means if Gazprom were a country, it would be 55th in terms of GDP, below New Zealand but ahead of Vietnam."

Our new 70,000 Capacity stadium will be completed soon as well.....The Gazprom Arena. If it weren't for our reserve GK the other day we probably would have beat Benfica 2 or 3 goals to 0 so that shows how good a team we already have. That was without Danny our best player as well.

    1 Zenit (St. Petersburg) 35 19 13 3 69 30 70
    2 CSKA (Moscow)... 35 17 13 5 65 37 64
    3 Lokomotiv(M) (Moscow) 35 17 9 9 53 34 60
    4 Dynamo(M) (Moscow) 35 17 8 10 55 40 59
    5 Spartak(M) (Moscow) 35 16 11 8 53 37 59
    6 Rubin (Kazan)... 35 15 12 8 45 30 57
    7 Anzhi (Makhachkala) 35 15 11 9 41 34 56
    8 Kuban (Krasnodar) 35 15 9 11 42 33 54

Only 2 months left of the season now and we have a nice 6 point lead on CSKA Moscow, even though we have been without Danny for a over a month now we have managed well without him and we beat 4th placed Dynamo Moscow 5 - 1 the other day. It's no mean feat to top the RPL nowaday, just look at the amount of quality in the top 8.We all know how rich Anzhi are and they are only 7th,they're like the Manchester City of the CL lol!

We play Dynamo Moscow again in the QF's tomorrow as well I will probably watch it online if possible <Ale>

Here is our fixture table if anyone is interested:

    W: 2
    D: 2
    L: 3

Failed to socre in last 3 and 5 of his 7 games.

3 pts off Europe when he took over - now 4.

Fucked up WC 2010 qualification with Russia, humiliated by Croatia with Turkey in EU 2012 qualifiers and now this - has his luck finally run out ?
