The top 4 all away should be interesting. Chelsea will have a tough time at Hull - it took us a while to break them down last week and they do have an attacking threat, especially at home. City and us have potential slip ups as well, Newcastle are going well but tend to be a bit shit against good teams. We have a horrible record at Stoke but their team is so utterly shit and we have Sturridge and Sakho back in the squad which is a boost.

Then to the rubbish teams - United simply have to win or Moyes can't last long much longer. Spurs should win 1-0 in the last minute. Everton will probably win fairly comfortably.

Villa-Arsenal you never know but Arsenal should destroy them if they play to a good level.

Horrible fixturelist though, apart from the Newcastle-City game.

Good news - Gareth Barry just scored a stunning goal <Ale>

Bad news - We just announced signing of Aidan McGeady for 4.5 years  Grr

And we decided to not wait until June and buy him now (rumoured price is 1.5m euros), so not even sure how much profit we can make after we will learn that he is not up to standards we should aim for.

I have to say, the scatman Poyet is doing well at Sunderland, he's probably the first coach in their history that hasn't been a long ball merchant and they have a good chance of staying up. Poyet was getting linked with us not that long ago, maybe we should have brought him in, even if it meant a more unhygienic changing room.

Different game second half. Should have walloped them. 2nil will do though. Nice Puncheon penalty. Almost as good as Gerrard at them. Not everyone is blessed with a Soldadopen though.

You sly fox. I never wanted him sold. And still don't. But his ideal position is on the bench coming on like today  the latter stages. If he were a Solksjaer type character, he'd be happy with that, but of course he isn't, he's Defoe and he's ambitious. He likes to play as regularly on the field as he does off it with ex big brother contestants. So, if he refuses to accept being back up, which he doesn't, then power to him, the club should not stand in his way given what a servant he's been. Conversely, just because he's been a regular at a club for a long time doesn't mean they owe him games when he's now older and far less impactful over 90minutes. That's just how it is.

Rumours are that we may be replacing him with Shane Long. Which would be utterly ridiculous on the face of it, but given he probably happy to sit on the bench further emphasises the reasons for Defoe leaving.
