Martinez is a real professional guy and they still do have a chance (although not a great one) at 4th so I'm sure they will go for it.

I seriously don't know. I would say that usually for player its much less important to stop local rival from winning something comparing to fans. I would guess that there is a serious chance of our players putting a decent effort and still losing it. Apparently we will have Jagielka back, playing Alcaraz instead him for one more game would be a clear intent of our willingness to fuck things up for Liverpool.

Plus - like Jaime said - we are still having a chance for 4th (I know it's a small one). I would be livid if Arsenal would fuck things up on their end and we put give Manchester City points for free.

Things that make me think Everton will try:

.you don't want to lose 3 in a row.
.you don't want to lose your last home game of the season
.you still have a chance of 4th (though very minimal)
.you still might want to qualify for Europa
.Lukaku might want to do Chelsea a favour

But as you say even if you do try the likelihood is without Mirallas or Distin and question marks over Jagielka, it might not even be enough.

This one (combined with Gibson still being injured) is probably the biggest issue for Martinez before the match. Especially when you have Yaya Toure on opposite side.

To think, AVB had this defence as one of the tightest in the league.

Just goes to show what a professional coach can do.

The punditocracy can fuck off with their pathetic "Save our Tim" campaign.

Interestingly, Giggsy has chosen to go a goal down to Sunderland at home, I wonder what the plan is.

Be thankful, at least this way he can't wear the 'joint most premier league points tally in a season' medal around his neck when when he's managing in league 1 in 5 years time. It also means he's definitely gone whilst Fat Sam's job is safe, and boy they don't like him down in East London. In 365 days time we'll probably be very appreciative of this day.

I don't know if it makes a difference, a home game against relegation fodder. If Ashley cares about what happens on the pitch the decision will have already been made.
