Happy Danny Welbeck day everyone, apparently a forward that has scored 4 goals this season is worth features on both football focus and MOTD.

That's £16million Danny Welbeck, 4 million pounds per goal.

Kind of annoying how the shit that decision was to rule out Balotelli's goal but we deserved sweet f**k all from that match.

Rodgers just can't cut it when the heat is on it seems. Terrible season all round.

What a man. What a legend.

But that wont happen. Arsenal to win FA cups in a row.

Which will make Wenger if he adds a 2nd place to it, look really good!

I like how the main narrative in the press is that Steven Gerrard has been denied a place in the final, rather than Aston fucking Villa doing something for once.

Well I think Villa are gonna be a tougher team to play against than Liverpool. Lots of pace and direct play against Mertesacker is a worry. If they play a high line vs Giroud, he's very easy to neutralise and Cazorla in central midfield is hugely overrated. Gets easily overrun by power energy and resorts to lots of backward passing - a lot like Arteta.

Well played Debbie, Villa fully deserved the win.

I dont think we underestimated Villa (we would be silly to have done as they are a bogey side) I just think it was another example of us running out of steam and coming up short this season. We were utterly dreadful from August until December and to salvage anything from the season we had to dig really deep from January onwards which we did. But now our best players have fucked themselves because of it - Sturridge probably rushed back and has struggled with fitness, Sakho injured himself, Sterling and Coutinho simply aren't at that world class level to change a game every single week. The Suarez void can't be filled by a myriad number of good players. We just need one world class player.

That's not an excuse though - we still under performed. Villa wanted it more.

Rodgers needs another season - we've come close to winning 3 trophies but failed all 3 during the final hurdles. We need top 4 or a trophy next season or it could be time for someone a tiny bit more pragmatic.

There are no winners in this year's FA Cup, from a Spurs perspective. This is as bad as it can get really.

Cheers Luis. Think it was a case of the game coming at the right time for us and the wrong time for you, in terms of form/momentum. We were missing a few in defence, but had key players there and on their best form (Benteke in particular with his goalscoring run, but also Vlaar and Delph been back to best in recent weeks). Add in Grealish who stepped up in a big way and the lifted morale that Sherwood seems to have brought and things clicked.

Liverpool still in the dip after the Arsenal/Man Utd defeats & no reliable goalscorer without Sturridge. Don't think Rodgers got his tactics right either & it's a particularly bad example of squad management when you end up in a game like this with no striker starting & three on the bench who are clearly not trusted at all by manager. I agree you should stick with Rodgers for now, but it's at a precarious stage: he definitely needs a good start to next season.

I'm not convinced they should stick with him.. This seems like a good time to grab a manager who is potentially much more attractive to big name players. I still don't think Rodgers gives you that. What if they wait a year, he still doesn't do it, but the good managers are now off the table? Definitely something they should consider I think. Imagine if they could get Klopp and he could convince a couple of the better Dortmund players to follow. Could be a big step.. Or gamble on Rodgers having a much better season, under the assumption he can attract a world class striker or high goal scoring winger from somewhere.. One more mediocre season and that's probably Sterling gone, maybe Coutinho too... Maybe even Sturridge!

Good luck Debbie - if you play like you did vs us and Arsenal fail to handle it like we did you have a good chance.

Our season starts end of July if Villa win but I don't care - the players don't deserve a long holiday anyway.

Fair play if Weger wins this back to back though.

Poor half - decision-making going forward has been diabolical. could've been worse though if Arsenal were clinical.

N'Zogbia at his absolute worst & Grealish has not been on it either. probably be Gabby on for Zog at half time, or Sinclair possibly. several players on bookings is a worry but just gotta go for it now.
