Speaking of European competitions, the Europa League needs to be changed. Teams that finish 3rd in Champions League group stage should not fall into EL but instead receive monetary compensation, which is half what teams that advance to CL Round of 16 receive. Also the EL should be straight knock-out with the only teams parachuting from 3rd Q and Playoff Rounds of CL allowed to parachute, and the First Round Proper starting with 128 teams. The first three rounds would be seeded (as would be the Playoff Round, which would be the EL's only Q round), and played on the equivalent of Matchdays 1-6 of the current EL. The games would be played on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the time slot before the CL.

Re: How to fix the Europa League
If Sevilla is qualified for Europa league, just cancel the competition and safe some time would be a first improvement.

Re: How to fix the Europa League
Don't try to fix what isn't broken, every year the Europa League provides us with an exciting knock out stage that isn't just dominated by the same 3 teams every year like the CL is. The football is at a good standard as well, and it's exciting.
I hope Sevilla win, they deserve CL football next season.

Re: How to fix the Europa League
Personally, I wouldn't want to remove the group stage, it gives a good international experience to teams from weaker countries, also the group stage this year was pretty interesting(only 4 of the 12 groups were settled before the last matchday).
maybe they should expand the group stage to 16 groups of 64 teams(thus giving a better chance for teams from other countries to qualify and get some european taste+by doing that there won't be a need to transfer the 3rd place finishers from uefa champions league group stage).

Re: How to fix the Europa League
After thinking about this, keeping the group stage is probably a good thing. However, I still think the 3rd place teams in the CL group stage should not parachute into the
EL, and the EL should be played Tuesday/Wednesday in the time slot before the CL (2 hours before if group stage or 1st legs, 3 hours before if second legs [due to possibility of overtime]). The group stage should remain at 48, with the best eight third place finishers advancing to Round of 32, or the group stage should shrink to 32 teams (with the cup winners of the best six associations and the CL playoff round losers entering in the group stages). In the case of 32, each country should only have 2 berths (instead of 3) so that small nations still have a chance of qualifying for the group stage (less teams from big nations to compete against).

Re: How to fix the Europa League
CL teams would have the same complaints as EL teams that can only play on Sundays.
