In what formation do you think?

EDIT: Just seen it in the Prem discussion thread. Doh

What is Soloman Kalou's best position, striker or winger.

not a great fan of this chelsea system to be honest

I like it when Chelsea play the wide men, I know Robben is out, but where is J Cole and SWP? these players are dangerous especially on the counter attack, Sheva has a lot to prove today.

Kalou very much reminds me of Thierry Henry pre-2000.

Quick, lean, able to go past players and cut inside (from the left).

He will play in a 4-3-3.

Last time Ferreira played CB (Fulham), he played really well. I hope he can play just as well today.

Joe Cole is out (long term I believe).

SWP just isn't good enough imo. Kalou will offer width today.

thats a real shame, I like J Cole, he's probably my favorite Chelsea player, as long as Drogba plays you'll be ok though, haven't seen much of Kalou to make a judgement on him

I prefer to watch that system - They used it vs us at Stamford Bridge in the last 15 mins and could have easily scored 4 from it.

You can't blame Jose though. He has genuine World Class cenral players at his disposal, so you could forgive him for trying to play narrow.

Joe Cole has a broken foot, and SWP has not made a huge impact when used, I think he is off this January.

I don't want to moan about injuries being the result of this 'slump', given our strength in depth, but with so many key injuries at the moment, it's a lot more difficult to keep winning games in such a congested period than either of Jose's two previous seasons.

(The key injuries I am talking about are Cech, Terry, Joe Cole, Robben and to an extent Cudicini).

But we still have a good enough squad left that we shouldn't be conceding goals from crosses/set pieces, where we've left opponents unmarked.

Surely Jose realised this when he let Gallas go?

Cech is the only one you can really moan about, he's a massive loss.

J Cole as well maybe, however you've not been using wingers anyway.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that England captain John Terry may require surgery on his back injury.
The defender has been sidelined for the last four matches but had been expected to return within the next fortnight.

Mourinho was less optimistic and said: "The medical department have said surgery might be a possibility.

"I want them to make a quick decision. I don't know how long John Terry will be out for - three days, three weeks or three months, I don't know."

I don't think Mourinho let Gallas go. I think Kenyon let that one happen. Mourinho was rumoured to be really unhappy when the deal happened.

If that is the case then Chelsea might look at signing a defender during the January transfer window.

You'd have thought so. I think this is why he signed Boula

Parks lives wrote:Cech is the only one you can really moan about, he's a massive loss.

As is John Terry. 6 goals in 3 games (half of those being headers too), but Cech is definitely the biggest injury (maybe it wouldn't have been if Carlo was able to play)

Parks lives wrote:J Cole as well maybe, however you've not been using wingers anyway.

Joe Cole would have played if fit. Robben has played a lot of games this season, and I think J Cole would have played more.

Because it's very hard to do this when the transfer window is closed.

And we mainly need defenders, but which top defenders will come to us at the moment. Maybe if we offer £30m for a defender, he might come.

It is interesting to see Chelsea struggling a bit now that they are suffering from injury problems. This is the first time I can remember Chelsea suffering from multiple injuries since Mourinho has taken over. It would seem that despite the size and quality of their squad, there are certain players who are vital to the level of their performance.
