Is La Liga still a Top 3 league ??

I always thought that the concept of "The TOP 3" was bullshit

but now it seems distinctly possible that we can use it with confidence

La Liga giants REAL were eaten alive by the 4th team in the Bundesliga

Barca, EVERYBODY's favourite, turned out to be merely a big name whipping boy, hopelessly out of their depth against an average Liverpool

remember, after 30 minutes, with Barca having to score two goals in the game, they still had not managed to get a shot on goal; Liverpool had 9 to their name

Bremen had also given Barca a football lesson in the Weserstadion, before freezing in the first half of the return leg; in the second half they were all over Barca once again, even if it was too late

we can therefore safely conclude

Bayern >>>> Real

Bremen >>>> Barca

Bundesliga >>> La Liga

Sauerkraut >>> Paella

Wheat Beer >>> Sangria

and no, Sastre's cleavage cannot make up for all of the above, I'm afraid

Despite all the disadvantages we have for the match on Sunday (away match in the Arroganz Arena, and even if we have a good result in Vigo tonight, we'll have one day less to rest, and it is an away match (a few hours flight), Bayern will still have to beat us. Don't expect us to chicken out like Real and play very defensively though.

This "top 3 leagues" fetish is nonsense, since the strength of leagues (and therefore success) goes in cycles, as I wrote in another thread already. But at this moment of time, La Liga, the EPL and Serie A are the strongest European leagues without a shadow of doubt.

even though i prefer spain then i dont think that barca and sevilla wining proves much. nowadays its hard to point to anything when looking at CL because its become mostly a cup and not balanced like it used to be with a 2nd group stage. if we have to use anything then it should be how many teams you have in the quarter finals and the semis from each country and not just one or two teams performing in a tournament.

Wait for Valencia to win the CL. And Sevilla the UEFA cup.

I'm not seriously convinced that either will happen - particularly Sevilla to win the CL as its near on impossible to defend. I agree with those who said the winner of Inter vs Valencia would go on to win it - but suspensions could kick in badly for them - just like earlier in this season in La Liga.

Werder have a great chance - I do agree on that!

i didnt find it entertaining because it was too much a couple of players doing their thing and no team play. and it was too obvious that these team has been in crisis.

From a neutral's point of view it was quite good.. plenty of chances, but mostly down to horrendous mistakes.

Distribution was poor, but over all I thought the game was entertaining enough. Certainly the best of the night by the looks of the highlights from the other games.
