Someone just sent me this link to those incredible opening 19 minutes last night: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGNI2ux4Y2A

Repeat after me: O'Shea - Fletcher - O'Shea - Ferdinand - Brown - Rooney - Carrick - Heinze - Giggs - Smith. That's right: the only United players NOT involved in Alan Smith's goal were Ronaldo and Van der Saar.

If I live to see a better team goal in my lifetime, I'll be a happy camper Smile

i cant say why or explain it but for some reason i dont like that goal. i can clearly see why others like it. a great goal but it gave me nothing in terms of emotion. maybe its the weak opposition i dont know.

Barthez should have saved two of them, great game though back in the days when Real were good.

Watch it again look were the ball ends up and the height of the ball when it goes past Barthez, a decent keeper would have saved it, a bit like Carricks first goal last night. Cant believe its your fave madrid goal, the Zidane volley against Leverkusen was miles better.

i know your kidding but there is some thruth.the reason we went down around 2004 after the monaco game because of our first 11 players always playing and we didnt have the great bench we had the season before with McManamen, flavio(ok),cambiasso, portillo, morientes. very good player but he didnt do well when he got home man city right?

Good call, Forza... I daresay that one had slipped my mind. Practically the ultimate team goal. Certainly they sprayed the ball around for longer than United, and with extraordinary patience too. If I was to make a case for Smith's goal being better, I'd emphasise the sheer speed of the passing from Brown's ball to Rooney onwards. Every pass was a killer ball that put defenders out of the game.

But fair dos: that Argentina goal was a one in a million effort.
