It's irrational to campare the scenes of jubilation to a few Arsenal fans over hyping a bunch of kids that have constantly managed to make the Semi finals of the Mickey mouse cup.

These things happen, a freak result. Just like how 6-3 against Liverpool at Anfield was a freak result - These things happen in Football.

I repeat......... None of our celebrations come close to the Giraffes coming close to tears and champagne being opened in the dressing room.
I was proud of the lads, tis all.

Why do you care anyway, its good for them to gloat, get it out of their system and then charge themselves up just before the next loss. Its sweeter when your "rival" actually believes they're equal. No fun in just bullying the lil' bratty brother.Black Magic wrote:Parks lives wrote:Black Magic wrote:Fey wrote:Even if it was a friendly...5-1 is 5-1!!!

Re: The let's laugh at Tottenham thread.
I thought we should have taken Spurs more seriously.
Its nice to give the kids their chance, after all, they've got us this far. But certain situations necessitate tough decisions to be made and really we should have gone with 8/9 first teamers and the other two/three benchers for both legs of this tie.
Otherwise when we come to May and end out trophyless again we'd only have ourselves to blame.
On a more upbeat note, Spurs look to have got their swagger back. all they need now is to bring in a top class keeper and maybe an experiences non injury prone centre back and I can see them being the most serious top 4 challenger next season again.

Re: The let's laugh at Tottenham thread.
I would rather loose the CC than risk our league/CL challenge. I'm more pissed of that, first teamers were risked rather than the loss. Think to Liverpool last season , they got ofver the CC and went to the CL final. I would rather do that than win the CC and go out to Milan/QF.Tweedle wrote:I thought we should have taken Spurs more seriously.

Re: The let's laugh at Tottenham thread.
I said before the match I'd rather we rest all our key players and lose than play them and risk injuries/suspensions. Besides i beleive we'd have still lost even if we played our full team, spurs have come close to beating us several times in thepast 1-2 years but bottled it in the end, it was just a matter of time before things go well for them and last night was clearly there night with almost very attack resulting in a goal( that's a sign of things not going your way).

Re: The let's laugh at Tottenham thread.
I dont think theres any point in being sarcastic here - It was a very good performance from Spurs and we were completely raped. They can take all credit for that.
Seeing some of the names Spurs are being linked to, they could seriously be pushing for a top 4 spot soon. (heard that before?)

I guess he's talking about Arshavin, Tiago, Garay, D'allessandro, even a return for Carrick & Kanoute.
Stekelenburg, Yohann Pele, Palop, Frey and Akinfeev are some of the Keepers they're talking about.

Seriously Rai, its getting quite boring. Its hardly particularly inventive and you're just repeating the same idea.
IMO, i'd like to have more English players but only really if they come through our own youth team, if we are going to spend money on players, we should go for the best thats available, regardless of nationality. How many English players from your academy do you have in your first team? This season its been one and hes been your weak link.

Re: The let's laugh at Tottenham thread.
Any of those keepers would be a major improvement.
Tiago would be a great buy too as he's probably available at a reduced price. Ranieri's being a moron over this.
Garay again would be quality.

Danny Simpson has been good, played well in Rome and when he got his opportunity, his attacking instinct looks good could have had 2 against Newcastle. No offence but how many teams for example left in the Champions League play with a 'foreign XI', I know success is what matters but your a English Club, your 1998 double winning team >> The Invincibles.
