Juan joins Roma

Bayer Leverkusen defender Juan has joined Roma on a four-year contract.

Roma have stumped up €6.3million (£4.2million) to sign the Brazilian, who had spent five seasons with Leverkusen.

He has accepted a four-year deal with Roma and will link up with his new club after playing for Brazil at the Copa America in Venezuela.

Reports suggest that Juan's arrival at Stadio Olimpico could signal the departure of Cristian Chivu to Internazionale.

Though Roma insist talks are not being held with Inter, speculation claims the Romanian international will join the Serie A champions.

Good signing IMO. One of the unsung heroes of the Brasilian side, and is generally a good performer. Had a good WC.

Juan is a good defender, but if its true that Roma are going to keep Chivu, then they wouldve been better off strengthening a different area of their team. They already have Ferrari, Mexes and Chivu for CB, they should have perhaps bought a new full back or winger.

Chivu will leave. Inter are interested, and now with Puyol's injury we will accelerate our attempt.

Either way its a bad signing, if Chivu leaves then Juan isn't an adequate replacement.

If chivu stays then its £6m that could have been spent elsewhere
