    Agendas.

Ronaldo this season definately deserves to be in the top 3 for me.

Another HUGE omission is Darren Bent Exclamation

Not agendas - Ronaldo is decent(ish) in CL but nowhere near the level of the 3 I've mentioned.
    ok
as good as he0s tearing up the EPL , he's nowhere in the same region in the CL - whereas these three have done it it already at the biggets stage.

Ok lets look at it this way over the past year:

    Performed for country - 1) Ronaldo 2) Kaka 3) Eto 4) Ronaldinho

    Performed in the League - 1)Ronaldo 2) Ronaldinho 3) Kaka 4) Eto

Performed in the CL) 1) Kaka 2) Ronaldo 3) Ronaldinho 4) Eto

So on this years performances Ronaldo has been the best player overall. I think most people would accept the above as being true.

    @ Rez

People forget that Ronaldo is 8th highest goalscorer in Portugal's history

amazing for his country , last season signs of improving in Europe were coming to the party

plus he has 3 years on Kaka and 4 on Ronaldinho

He will be no1 SOON Ale

15 GOALS away from Figo who is 3rd !

Ronaldo is 22 .. so he will , should ? overtake the LEGEND ??

On this debate, and considering the rate at which he scores for Portugal - games to goals ratio - it's acknowledged that Ronaldo may become Portugal's all-time top scorer.

It'll be a difficult for him to achieve this considering his position, but age is on his side, and hopefully good health.

I'm starting to think Iniesta is the most underrated player on the planet!!! Dominated Milan, Argentina, Arsenal, Benfica, England etc. Has played CM, AM & RM this season. Not in the top 50? Pffff

Marcotti has lost the plot, he must have been living in England too long and the media hype has started to rot his brain.

    Flumps at 16
Gerrard at 7 lol! lol! lol!

Alex proved in it in the league and in the CL - like no CB has done in ages. Singlehandledly slaying Arsenal along the way.

THe league might be 'easier' but as soon as Alex was injured (only two months btw) PSV's crumbled like a house of cards during a hurricane.

Defensively Alex might be the pefect defender: on the ball, position, vision, heading tackling etc - the only thing people might nag is his speed, which is not slow, but simply not a sprinter.
Offensively he can be better than most fullnacks that are only rated for their attack. can put a cross in, side plitting passes, makes set pieces (freekick goals), immaculate header of set pieces, can jump extremely high, simply amazing foot technique for a defender (even for a brazilian defender), attack build up and what not.

Saying he was inan easier league only confirms that you weren't paying attention to the CL. Which he was the best defender in the group stages and second round.

Some youtubes to seal the deal (all from this year):
    Freekick https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56wmjMayx6Q 110.6km/hr!!!
    CL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgdYipf3Zzo
Amazing goal would make strikers jealous https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kC8g66Qy5NM

I remember gerrard running past him and scoring Wink

Not saying he wasn't right up there, just that I think Ramos has been a bit better and offers more to the team. In truth they are all pretty close, and ramos is a personal preference for me. Obviously alex in the udcth leage is a personal preference for you. Anyway I'm looking forward to seeing alex next year in the EPL.

Fletcher dominated Arsenal, Roma, Milan, italy, France, Liverpool and Chelsea. played RB, RM, LM, DM, CM & AM this season. You dont see anyone campaigning for him to be in the list Razz

You're right; pale sick looking boy is underrated.

    He is right about Tevez.

Not mentioning Carvalho, Deco, Quaresma and Alex is ridiculous.

Malouda, Beckham, Gerrard, LAMPARD and TORRES and fat Ronaldo are too high.

Vila and Drogba should be better ranked, they are among the top ten for sure. Diego is too low as well.

Never realised Deco wasn't in this. Laughing

He certainly does seem to like his media favourites.

Bear in mind that everyone's has his own judgment and preferences. It's not because one individual says his own point of view that it is automatically true and contestable. Only his first players (not necessarily in correct order) represent the best 4 in the world; the rest is debatable.

Berbatov at 25, Lampard at 16 and Tevez at 8 are overrated. Also no Toni, Klose, Carvalho, Deco, Chivu or Alex surprise's me, whilst i think Ibrahimovic should be better than 17th.

Doing a top 50 is to hard anyway.

    Maybe a top 10 or 20.

    16. Frank Lampard (Chelsea)

Let’s let the numbers do the talking, shall we? He has missed five league games in the past six seasons at Chelsea, while hitting double figures in league goals in each of the past four. Plus, he never slows down and is genuinely adored by his team-mates. What more do you want?

FFS he can't go fast enough to slow down
