    The funny thing is that he keeps saying that he doesn't want to offend Feyenoord or disrespect them by directly talking about Real Madrid yet he poses with an AS cover in his hand Doh

    This is actually even worse than saying "I want to play for Madrid." I guess we will be getting Drenthe after all. I still have my doubts though since if we sign our potential targets we would already have Reyes/Robben (and maybe Robinho) as LWs and Marcelo/Torres as LBs. All 4 of these players are also very young so they would be playing with us for a long time.

    The logical thing would then be to withdraw our bid for Robben and spend that money on Quaresma since our right wing is severely lacking.

    According to Feyenoord the club has NOT negiotiated with any club about the transfer of Drenthe.

    Chelsea tabled a ridiculously low bid & Real offered slightly more. Feyenoord replied they want a ridiculously high tranferfee. No reply from the Drenthe suitors thereafter.

    Feyenoord say they're still open to negotiations, but will only consider serious offers, so far they received none.

    THat's settled then. Drenthe at feyenoord for another season. Having a great season (by a distance better than last) play at the EC08, and then everyone has to pay at least 12m quid.

    Could be one of the best things that has happened for Feyenoord so far.

    Yep.

    Even if he'll be sold, he'll stay at Feyenoord. A loan back for at least 1 season is a precondition to any deal.

    So do I

    @axe
    Groningen used to be part of Drenthe!

    Groningen ontstond op de noordelijkste uitloper van de Hondsrug. De oudst bekende schriftelijke vermelding dateert uit 1040, maar vaststaat dat de huidige stad al ver voor dat jaar een bewoonde plaats was. De oudste archeologische vondsten zijn met behulp van de C14-methode gedateerd op circa 3950-3720 voor Chr. Een onafgebroken bewoning kan worden vastgesteld vanaf de derde eeuw.

    Het aanvankelijke Drentse esdorp...

    Don't think that should be a big issue. Reyes didn't impress last season, bar the last match. Drenthe isn't ready to start for Real.

    I was very impressed with him for Castilla last year. I was disappointed he didn't play more with Spain at the U-20 WC. He's just 19 so obviously still a long way to go but I think he's very talented.
