Reports are that he wants to sign Freddie Ljungberg. What a good signing that could be for Man City.

Yeah i dont want Harewood, SSN have also announced that reports have it we will attempt to outbid Liverpool for Benayoun which would be a brilliant signing if we could pull it off.
I want SWP first above anyone. Other players i would like us to look at are the likes of N'Zogbia, Cisse, Yakubu, Mido, Nakamura, Reo-Coker (depending on fee), Wayne Bridge or Leyton Baines.
IMO we need a CB, CM, LB, LM, RM, and 2 strikers.

Owen is top quality striker and id love to have him but i would worry about his injury record. I cant see us signing him tbh i think he will stay at Newcastle.

It will be very interesting to see Sven's true colours now he's a club manager - i.e. will he try to sign some of the 'world class' England team, or leave well alone?

Feel free to make a bid for the piece of $h!t, it'll cost you about £12m, 100k a week, he will hardly ever play, and he will have his agent whoring him out to CL clubs 24/7. If you want that, make a bid.

Didn't want Sven to go to ether Newcastle or City, and now my fears have been realised.
Citizens to finish in the top 10 next year...

Scoring a goal at the COM would be a start !
A trophy would be brilliant, its been over 30 years for Christ sake and im hoping he can turn us into a team that can challenge for a top 6 spot continuously. Although given his late appointment i would be happy with a solid season and a top 10 finish next year.

I think next season you should be just aiming for a UEFA cup spot and a decent cup run.
That would be a very good season.

Re: Sven is the new Man City boss !
Wait and see who he manages to sign first. With the present squad, even a talented manager like Sven might struggle to achieve much more than Pearce. Pearce was a good coach and a decent touchline manager, but his transfers were diabolical. Needs more experience, or an older man to take transfer responsibility away from him, before he should be given a job again.

Re: Sven is the new Man City boss !
@ goater
So what are the figures regarding transfer budgets being banded around up there?
How much will Sven have this summer + where do the priorities lie?
IMO you could do with a left back, a centre back, a right winger, a centre mid and a striker

Re: Sven is the new Man City boss !
Nesta backs Sven return:
Alessandro Nesta has told Manchester City fans they should be excited about the prospect of his former Lazio Coach Sven Goran Eriksson returning to club football at Eastlands. “Eriksson is a different boss but in a good way,” said the World Cup-winning defender. “He gave me the freedom to do the right thing and to work it out myself. You could also go to him with your problems. He has helped me a lot and been a very important person in my career. He took a step back and let me develop.”

Re: Sven is the new Man City boss !
------------ Issaksson
Onouha --Richards -- Dunne -- Ball
They at least have a good defence to build on.
It's in midfield and up front they need improvements, especially in the striker department.
MUST PLAY STEPHEN IRELAND!!

Talk is it will be around £50m for this summer. I agree we need a CB and CM to replace Distin and Barton. On top of this we need 2 strikers to replace Corradi and Dickov who i hope will both leave. We also need a right mid and a left mid, id look at the likes of SWP, Ljunburg and N'Zogbia to fill these gaps. Also id like to see a creative mid like Benayoun or Nakamura join the club. So basically a complete new look midfield to back up Ireland, Johnson and Hamnn. A left back isnt a priority but someone like Bridge or Baines would be great signings.
Overall i think we need to get rid of Dabo, Corradi, Dickov and Danny Mills. That leave our squad very light and id say we need to sign about 7 players in order to have a sufficent squad.

Re: Sven is the new Man City boss !
Michael Ball isn't really good enough IMO - I was thinking someone like Baines or Bridge would be a good investment for them.
This would be a great squad:
--------------Isaksson---------------
Onouha---Richards---Dunne----Bridge
SWP------Flood-----*****----Beasley
----------+++++----N/S--------------
***** = ground covering midfielder
+++++ = one of the existing strikers
N/S = new striker, someone prolific
