Maxim Choupo Moting humiliates JUVE Empty Maxim Choupo Moting humiliates JUVE

    Post by Ä Thu Aug 02, 2007 12:15 am

HSV have just beaten Italy's finest

    1:0

this was also Castelen's first game for the club

the headlines though belong to yet another product of that endless conveyor belt of German talents

    a young chap called

Maxim Choupo Moting who apparently went through the HSV youth academy

should be about 18 years old now

del Piero failed to do what Maxim did WITH EASE

    no suprise here

    Biggrin

my only problem is that it's starting to get a bit complicated just keeping track of all these German talents

    Neutral

a week ago 19-year-old Sandro Wagner produces a super-performance up front for Bayern (scoring, assisting, hitting the woodwork)

Schindler, the 19-year-old Werder star had a sensational striking debut for his club as well

Helmes, who might be better than Gomez even, just scored 2 goals for 2nd division Cologne against Bayern

Lauth, the former next-Gerd Mueller, made Cannavaro look like a 3rd division player and scored accordingly

older guys like Klose score on their first match for Bayern lifting Cups immediately

Kuranyi, the best header of the ball, is now so complete some experts believe he could replace Lincoln, the MIDFIELDER

    and so it continues

    Shocked Shocked Shocked

    meanwhile,

    Hannover beat Real Madrid 3:0

    HSV dismiss Juve 1:0

    Dortmund humiliate Roma 5:0

Leverkusen give AZ Alkmaar a good drubbing 4:0 ( I think)

will there be no end to this TOTAL German FOOTBALL DOMINANCE Question

    cheers <Ale> Biggrin

good article about the three German kids who impressed so much last season after being thrown in at the deep end

you really could add Gomez, Ottl, Rensing, Tasci and many others

    http://www.sport1.de/de/sport/artikel_1521186.html

really goes to show that Germany does not necessarily need better youth academies at all

we only really need to give our youngster a shot at the big time and then continue to let them play

I doubt we will see very much of Schindler, Wagner or Moting this season

    ---------------

and that's the difference to Holland: their kids can develop in a no pressure environment for a few years before being sold off

Germany's talents tend to wither away on the bench

see Trochowski, Rensing, Podolski and Co

    -------------

maybe the Bundesliga should introduce a 5-Germans-must-play-for-a-team-at-any-one-time-rule

That our youth academies were improved dramatically after the EC 2000 disaster is actually the main reason why we see so many talented German youngsters these days. We have good / excellent academies now, but this doesn't mean that they can't (or shouldn't even) be improved, there is always room for improvement. We have to improve our youth education constantly if we want to remain at the top for decades to come.

But yes, what needs to be improved also is how players from the academy get integrated into the senior teams. This doesn't mean that clubs should rush the youngsters though, you often do more harm with that.
There actually will be a new rule forcing Bundesliga clubs to have a certain number of home grown (not necessarily German) players in the squad.

In future, I expect more German youngsters to go abroad. Not just because their quality is better, but there simply are too many of them these days. As long as it doesn't take overhand, it will only help German football while not really weakening the league at the same time.

We beat them 2-0, we must be better than both.

Juve just aren't very good anymore, they'll finish midtable and Ranieri will get sacked. It's the least they deserve, they should have just won promotion to Serie B, lucky bastards. <Ale>

Dortmund won 4-0. Come on Otto, even the Sun gets the score right Wink

But like Kimbo said, Juve seem to be a bit $h!t in the pre-season so far.

Castelen supposedly had a good match (his first match), HSV fans are already raving about him. Good to know that he'll play about 5-10 matches a season.

HSV were dominant throughout, and didn't use their chances well according to match reports.

I dont like the restriction of 5 German players if they are good enough they will make it to the first team , for eg in EPL there is so much foreign talent but still if the Englsih players are good enough they play for big 4 but dont want to go their way though where blooding youngsters would be impossible because of the fear of defeat(there is too much to lose nowadays so we see risk free strategies).

Juve are behind the German and English teams in their preparation. They played fairly well against Newcastle. To say they're $h!t is a bit harsh. I actually think Juve will finish in the top 4.

Juve rested quite a few key players, and it was just a test match. Doesn't mean anything, especially when HSV is invloved....

well, Stevens tested the ENTIRE SQUAD over 90 minutes

    Laugh

    hence, the appearance of Moting

it still did not stop their mojo

says a lot about Germany though that quite a few papers went for a "Castelen had good debut" headlines , rather than "18 year old unknown German wonderkid slashes mighty Juve"

    it will always be thus

Maxim Choupo Moting is not that unknown though. He is one of the best players of his age group.

With Ben-Hatira and Choupo Moting, HSV finally have some promising youngsters from their own academy in their ranks. About time.

For me it's mainly because of Ranieri, I don't rate him much. Their squad is ok IMO, though others think the problem is with their squad.

I'm not a huge fan of Ranieri, but I think he may be the right coach to get Juve enthusiastic in this transitional period. Lippi would be ideal.

This was one of the first few matches that the team is playing with it's relatively new squad. It will take time for the new players to gel in. Surprisingly some of them have performed well in these first few games. And they are also behind in match prep comparatively because their season is slated to start later.

Though one cannot really ignore these defeats, in my opinion there is not much cause for concern. Let's watch the next few friendlies to see if they are looking so bad as some of the posters are pointing out...rather prematurely
