    Post by Ä Tue Aug 14, 2007 5:36 pm

the two sides will play each other in a "Mehmet Scholl Farewell Game" tomorrow evening

    surely

the most eagerly anticipated European Game this season

    http://fcbayern.wordpress.com/2007/08/14/van-bommel-it-will-be-strange-to-play-against-barca/

    http://www.fcbayern.t-home.de/en/news/news/2007/12931.php?fcb_sid=869f55e7090bddd2b7836af1a9101420

Barca are contractually obliged to field a full-strength side

Bayern will probably do the same, but cannot give 100% since they are about to face Werder next weekend in the hugely anticipated "Klose seeks revenge-match"

    so

tune in on Wednesday, for the passing of the torch of the most dazzling side in Europe from Barca to Bayern

    Sooooooo

The favourites for this year's Uefa cup against the favourites for this year's CL

    should be interesting

although as it's still barca's pre season I expect bayern may just sneak a draw out of it

effectively the two best strike-forces in world football in a face-off

    +

the two best midfields in world football seizing each other up

    Klose-Toni vs Eto'O-Messi

    +

    Schweini-Ze Roberto-van Bommel-Ribery

    vs Ronni and Co

    --------------------------------

if Bayern take it seriously, it'll be a slaughter

make sure to tune in, because this is a season one-off,

potentially better than ANY CL Final (bearing in mind the sheer poverty of Real, Chelsea, Arsenal, Milan and Co this year)

Ze Roberto was Brazil's best player at the World Cup

NOT overhyped Kaka, Robinho or Ronnie

as voted by the great Brazilian public

he then went on to become Brazilian League player of the Year , still being an international, before returning to Bayern where he switched from the side to the middle

    top player

    ------------------------------

this game is TOP GUN 2

    Klose vs Eto'O

    =

    Maverick vs Ice Man

    Ale

    the question is

    a) who will get Kelly Gillis

    b) will Klose overcome his father-trauma

    c) will Eto'O remain ICE-COOL

    d) will Toni be a good wing-man

    e) will Klose stick to the rules or jump above the maximum operational height

    f) will Hitzfeld spill his coffee when Klose's shot zooms past

Sorry to rain on the parade.. but our team is jetlagged, and still not really season fit. I expect the stars to get a run out and then massive substitutions.

    My prediction: Bayern 3 - 1 FCB

    We are CL favourites? scratch

Final score 1-1 in this one...I'm guessing our 4-0 win in the Gamper a couple years ago won't mean much Wink

obviously, the Bayern midfield has to feature Scholl, since it's his game

    Doh

    so maybe

    Schweini, Ze Roberto, Scholl, Ribery

Ze Roberto is one of the best DMs in the game. No exagerating, he is brilliant on that position. A deep-lying playmaker type, kudos to Parreira for finding that out after all these years.

If he had started his career on that position, I wonder how good he might have become. Some Bayern fans believe him to be their most important signing of the summer (not the much hyped expensive signings like Ribery, Toni and Klose), and I agree.

Bayern lack a class box to box midfielder to cover him in the double pivot though. Van Bommel is not bad, but he is too undisciplined, he often hurts his team more than he helps.

    Evil or Very Mad

    KLOSE is EASILY

THE MOST IMPORTANT signing this year

    followed by Ribery

    German football in general

this year the number one priority is the Euro 2008

followed by the development of our youth

followed by the success of Leverkusen and Stuttgart

followed by the Germans of Bayern dazzling the international football world in the UEFA Cup

SPORT expects Milito to start, which makes sense to me because it will most probably be him and Thuram till Puyol returns.
