So who will it be too ? lots of speculation he is going ot Everton but im really hoping we might be in for him, also i guess you cant rule out West Ham who are still looking for a striker.

Yakubu out of Boro squad !
SSN have just reported that Yakubu has been left out the Boro squad for their weekend game against Fulham. It is not reported that he is injured and its obviously added to speculation that he is on the verge of a move.
So who will it be too ? lots of speculation he is going ot Everton but im really hoping we might be in for him, also i guess you cant rule out West Ham who are still looking for a striker.

I think Manchester United have to look into this , not a short term option by any means. But i reckon he be off to Everton.

He could be our Saha and stay fit as well.
May mean us selling Saha off at the end of the season though.

He's not quite as good as Saha, but he can play the same role and is generally fit for 10 months a year. I've been saying he deserves a chance at a top club for ages, though I would have thought he'd interest Arsenal and Liverpool as well as Man U. Chelsea obviously aren't looking for another ACoN striker.

I've probably told this story 10 times now, but it was Fergie who told Harry Redknapp he must sign Yakubu when he was still playing in Isreal.

If he is going then Boro need to bring a new striker in quickly otherwise they must be in real danger of relegation. They don't look particularly strong at the moment, to lose Yakubu would be a big blow for them.

In the sense he can work the channels and play of the shoulder, but his physical presence can be used as a target man.
I think he'd be an excellent signing for any club.
Really though i'm surprised none of the 'top 4' have sniffed.

Re: Yakubu out of Boro squad !
I'd forgot about him to be honest. I think the deal has been concluded. Still, him and one of their other new forwards like Aliadiere is hardly a match for their forward line last year of Viduka and Yakubu, I would be very worried if I was a Boro fan.

I didn't know that. Dunno why Fergie isn't interested then. Maybe next summer when Solksjaer retires you could sell Saha, buy Yakubu. Yakubu'll play approximately the same number of games as those two combined...

Neither is that creative though. Normally you have one striker who can create for the other.
They could be awesome at times but also they may have games where nothing comes off as well.
I suppose with Arteta and Osman in midfield they will still get chances though.

seems strange everton suddenly seem to have shedloads of money. this'd push them over £30m for the summer (assuming fernandes deal's gone through as well)

Wasn't Moyes moaning about people spending huge amounts as well?
Though Jagielka, Fernades, Baines & Yakubu would all be good buys.

With the increased TV revenue, and lack of re-investment from sales such as Rooneys, this doesn't surprise me greatly.

I'm not sure on that - he isn't actually as pacy as Johnson and is a hell of a lot stronger. I think it could work. They have Anichebe as the more physical option

Re: Yakubu out of Boro squad !
He will be off to Everton guranteed.
Fair play to them, they've gone out and got Fernandes and it looks like they'll add yakubu to that as well.
I don't think he's too similar to AJ, for me johnson is just a pace merchant, he's not really got much else to his game, Yakubu is more inteliigent, his movements are good, as Tweeds said, he's a lot stronger than johnson and he can hold the ball up well.
Anichebe is loooking more impressive every time I see him, he's hard working and he's strong as well, he must be a nightmare to play against, but Moyes probably wants a bit more experience, particularly for the Uefa cup, Yakubu is a good striker and will add more strength to Everton's front line.

Re: Yakubu out of Boro squad !
Boro eye PSV duo
Aug 20 2007 by Eric Paylor, Evening Gazette
GARETH Southgate has widened his search for another striker following Mido’s massive impact on his electric Boro debut.
The club were represented in Holland yesterday where they were believed to be watching PSV striker Arouna Kone.
The 24-year-old, who recently turned down the chance of a move to Turkish club Galatasaray, played the full 90 minutes of PSV’s 2-0 win at Heracles Almelo.
Southgate will have scope to bring in a new striker should Boro receive an acceptable offer for Yakubu, who was left out of the squad which travelled to Fulham on Saturday.
It is believed that PSV agreed to sell Ivory Coast international Kone for nine million euros before the Galatasary deal broke down.
Dutch sources have also linked Boro with interest in a second PSV player, attacking midfielder Jefferson Farfan. However the 22-year-old Peruvian is currently sidelined with an ankle injury.
Boro’s attendance at the PSV match suggests that their next target is not Aphonso Alves, as was widely reported at the weekend.
Alves, said to be available for £9m, is a Brazilian international who does not hold a European passport, which creates obvious problems.
He scored 34 goals in 31 appearances for Heerenveen last season, and it is interesting to note that none of the big European clubs have tried to snap him up.
Boro’s ability to bring in Kone, or any other new striker, depends heavily on them accepting an offer for Yakubu.
Everton have made several inquiries recently and are expected to come in with a written bid in the near future.
West Ham and Portsmouth are the other clubs closely monitoring the situation.
It is believed that Boro are looking for £12m if they are to be tempted to sell the Nigerian.
Should any club come up with a written bid close to this figure, it will be the basis for a deal to be struck.
But Boro are adamant that Yakubu will not be given away for a much reduced fee, even though he seems to be out of favour following the arrival of Mido.
If Boro receive only low offers for Yakubu, then they will keep him.
That’s why Southgate has maintained a totally positive stance.
If Yakubu is still here on September 1, then he will be expected to fight for his place.

I think Alves does have a Swedish passport. Sounds like lazy journalism.
Added to that that Alves is injured so Southgate wouldn't see anything if he went to Heerenveen.
