I love Amsterdammers some times...they just CANT handle with losses...now they are in their depressionmode again and think they are the worst team ever etc. This will lower the confidence and makes ajax loss more matches!!!
Until they win again that is..then they are the best of the world again

Fucking Ajax were the only team on one of my accumulators not to win, they cost me £145.
Last night i won my other one though with Feyenoord winning and won £75 so it wasnt all bad.

Is the Eredivisie using the CL playoff system for this season?
What do the majority make of it in Holland?

It makes for great and exciting games at the end of the season, there's still *everything* to play for for all teams on the last 3 match days.
So during the season and the play offs the viewers are the winners.
....however : it's unfair and because the KNVB structurally helps the big 3 it has severely fucked us in Europe.
So there's mixed emotions.

95% of the people hate it because it is new and football fans are always afraid to something what is new!
It is not an unfair system it is only a different system. Ajax finished 2nd last year but also won the play offs. Without play-offs they also had to play CL qualifiers... With the play offs AZ, Twente and Heerenveen had also the chance to f@ck us in the qualifications...
Heerenveen and Twente would have had a difficult draw if they won the play offs and wouldn't stand a chance. For AZ it would have been the first time as well. They probably couldn't make it. Every club (read players) have to get used to the Champions League level because it is completely different from the UEFA Cup. The chance was as big as the current Ajax
The current Feyenoord had perhaps the biggest chance but they let the Netherlands down last year in the league and finished 7th with a negative goal difference of 10 goals and they conceded 66 goals

And Ajax have to start building a new team again next season. They will face the same problems then

As Ajax are not playing in the CL I think they can hold onto him for at least another 2 seasons. As the big (rich) clubs only buy players from the other leagues (Not Spain, England and Italy) who have played well in the CL or an international tournament.
The Suarez, Huntelaar partnership looks really good it's just a shame the rest of the team isnt as good as the front 2.

So true , as Ricardo said .. Ajax have to rebuild from scratch , there are 1 - 3 talented players coming through the ranks and van Basten should get the best from them IMO , some players must be sent into exile aswell.

Suarez is IMO a real Inter player!! He even has a Inter head ( Half long hairm, big teeth)
But yeah he will be gone in a year..Cause there are a lot of teams these days that are better and have more ambition then ajax!!
Funny fact...why did he left Groningen anyway, both play Jewefa-cup...Groningen was even better yesterday

De Graafschap, after a little slip-up on the first day, are already in the top half of the table. I suppose the opening weekend drumming woke a few people up and maybe galvanized the team. Two results away from home - excellent. Now next weekend at home to VVV. If we are serious we should be able to get 3 points there. And Powell hasn't even hit his stride yet. (then again, De Groot has).

Do you think Maradonny de Groot is ready for the next step?? I mean he is a bit of a combination of Eto'o and Henry!!
You should have signed him instead of Henry!!
But then again, de Graafschap wouldnt have their striker anymore!!

First of the system is flawed, Only the league champion goe sstraight nito the CL. The 2nd, 3rth 4th and 5th battle it out for the final spot. There can be up to 20 points difference between 2nd and 5th place teams. THe gap in quality can also be huge. So you get teams that fluke a win in a cup style format but really don't have nowhere near the quality to even win a group game should they reach CL. As a result Eredivisie loses points in the UEFA coefficient.
You also have the teams that should compete and would probably win and impress in the CL not going : AZ, Feyenoord. So our league is misrepresented in the most prestigious cup competition. So far, costing us UEFA coef points and no glory.
As a direct result, certain clubs will miss out on CL money as well and
Enough reasons given, and there are more. My club is a midtable team and even I am against it (it is most beneficiary to midtable teams).
What about thewhen three teams are battling for 1st and the 4th team is coasting along, knwoing they're way off winning the league and the automaitic CL spot but safe enough to not lose points to fall out of the playoffs for the CL spot. THat team will be the freshest once the playoffs begin and quality has nothing to do with it.
You see how skewed it is?!
