Francesco Coco has left Internazionale by mutual consent and retired from football.

The defender was contracted with the Italian club until 2009, but he has now decided to call time on his career after being plagued by injuries.

Coco amassed 17 caps for Italy during his career, and enjoyed a stint at Barcelona in the 2001/202 season.

The 30-year-old explained that he had being contemplating quitting for some time now.

"I have been thinking about this for a long time now. I took this decision calmly, and it was now rushed." he told Corriere dello Sport.

"This summer I left the door open to football and I got offers, but I think that the right moment has arrived for me to change my way,"

Reports in Italy suggest Coco will now head to Hollywood to begin a new career as an actor.

Didn't know he was around tbh.
