Having abandoned their bid for Ronaldo, Milan are hours away from signing ex-Betis Seville forward Ricardo Oliveira, confirmed the player.

“I am happy to have been signed by such an important club as Milan,” commented the 26-year-old Brazilian as the private jet touched down this evening.

He was accompanied by Rossoneri transfer gurus Ariedo Braida and Adriano Galliani, who were in Spain this week to discuss Ronaldo’s move from Real Madrid, but turned their attention to another Liga-based Selecao star instead.

It’s reported Oliveira will put pen to paper on a four-year contract worth £1m per season after sealing a £10m switch from Real Betis Seville.

The transfer depends on the results of a medical, though, as Oliveira was the Spanish League’s top scorer in 2004-05 with 22 goals before snapping a cruciate knee ligament in November last year.

He was loaned to Sao Paulo in his homeland to help recover from the injury and helped them reach the Final of the Copa Libertadores.

Lopera " Betis owner " says he doesnt know what Oliveira is doing in Milan, he doesnt have the clubs permission.
Im not saying that this wont happen but i find it strange that Betis would sell Oliveira after selling Joaquin, they dont need the money, they just got 25m euros for Joaquin. Besides im not sure how the fans would take the club selling the two best players they have the year of the clubs centenary.

why did you put "Betis owner" in quotes?

Also, where did you read/see that he does not have permission.

I may be the only, but I really think Oliveira is not AC Milan material.

I think he can be very good in contender teams... but not good enough for a high pressure team. Don't recognize in him world class or something really special, apart of very competence as forward.

Oliveira`s agent " Ronaldinho`s brother " who came out of a meeting with Betis owner Lopera just said on radio Marca that Milan & Betis couldnt agree terms ! Looks like if Milan want him they are gonna have to pay alot of dinero.

I think this deal will still happen. The player wants to leave, the clubs want to get rid of him so ...
Betis are just playing hard to get.

Still not sure why Milan just don't go for Tevez. He's a good player, and a high profile signing. Something which should appease the fans, after the loss of Sheva.

More about Drogba's encounter with Galliani at Kahka Kaladze's restaurant. Sounds like a lot of nothing.

Oliveira would be a nice back up like Tomasson was. Not first class material.

Don't they want Saviola? He'll come fairly cheap!

Oliveira first stayed in Sao Paulo, played part of the Libertadores final and then now in Milan. A bit of a handful isn't he? I would be interested seeing how he'd be received in Seville after all this and if he doesn't end up being sold.
