seems like all is not well with the blades at the moment, and one wonders how much time bryan robson will have to get things right.opinions are split as to if its his fault or the players at the moment, but after 8 games, a bit of panic is starting to set in with the supporters after indifferent performances in all games.he could have 2 games left, until the break, a traditional sacking time, or maybe he will be given longer,in which case at the moment is looking like a massive gamble if a promotion chance disapears in the meantime, or even worse, a relegation battle happens.either way, interesting times ahead.

Re: sheffield united have problems
Bryan Robson just isn't a very good manager. It that simple really. With the personnel that Sheffield Utd have they should be among the top favourites for promotion

Re: sheffield united have problems
well, thats my feeling, but is he a good enough manager to get promotion, therefore be given more time. 8 games is not a long time, but i think results and performances have to change almost immediately, or fan power will see him gone before long.i think the chairman will be forced to act sooner rather than later, unless he has a lot more confidence in him than some of the fans.

Re: sheffield united have problems
I think he needs more time, he has brought in some very good players in Naysmith, Hendrie, Cahill, Beattie and Sharp, whilst he inherited good players for champsionship level in Tonge, Shelton, Kenny, Killgallon etc. They remind me of WBA from last season, they are inconsistent but on their day probably the best team in the division.
IMO given time the players will gell as a team and he will do well with them. BUT he wont have much time cos he is under lots of pressure cos they are a big club with high expectations, especialy given the money he has spent.

Re: sheffield united have problems
well, its interesting to hear from fans of other teams he has managed, and probably 75%of them dont have a good word to say for him, and that sufc will only go in a downward direction with him.thats one of the worrying things about giving him much longer.

Re: sheffield united have problems
I know, I'm just saying I'm happy with it .
To be completely honest...I tipped Watford as champions and Charlton to go up as 2nd place. Robson has never convinced me as a manager...and your current situation just makes my opinion stronger.
I think you'll end up in a playoff spot, I can't see automatic.

Re: sheffield united have problems
well, for that to happen, its going to take almost a 100% turn around in form, and in doing so would transform robson from one of the most unpopular managers ever,to something approaching a hero, and you just get a feeling that its not destined to happen like that.i find in football that if a manager starts off badly and unpopular, he usually ends up fighting a losing battle to get credibility back, and its usually not a happy ending.

Re: sheffield united have problems
Robson's a classic Yo-yo manager, IMO. Probably amongst the better coaches in the Championship (though not in the class of Burley or Boothroyd) but not very good at EPL level. like Steve Bruce.
The Blades are suffering from the fallout from their relegation, and all the off-pitch legal battles. Totally distracted the club.

Re: sheffield united have problems
could be TeamSpirit, only the insiders at the club know if thats the case, fans just see what happens on the pitch every week.if your theory is true then he will get more time to turn things around.

Your chairman was still bleating on about the EPL/West Ham /Tevez fiasco a couple of games into the season, instead of concentrating on the job at hand. Probaby meant you prepared for the C'ship half as effectively as you should've done, so you've started on a bit of a hangover.
Fair enough to say that the Hammers got away with it, but that's politics for you. At the end of the day, all you had to do was avoid defeat in a home game against a fellow relegation rival to survive, and the players couldn't do it. That's nothing to do with West Ham.

I don't understand why Sheff Utd are doing so badly.
I know they concede a lot of last minute goals but it isn't like they've had an exodus of players over the summer.

Jagielka was a very big player for them though.

Re: sheffield united have problems
jagielka went, davis went, but not many rated him anyway,kazeem-richards went.but he was only used sparingly last season, so basically its the same team except jagielka.dropping down a division, even the loss of a big player should be overcome.the only other difference is robson for warnock, so is that the problem?
