He's not that bad but he is very overrated by the press here in holland.
His greatest assets are roughing up opponents and timing his runs into the box(which he is very good at). He's indeed no barca quality

he was really impressive, i know the PSV matches from him in CL

hope he gets his form back, in barca he played not on his position he want, in munich he will play that

he was still the best midfielder on the market now, and he will defenitly help us

How!? the only thing the say is that he should be in the national squad, and they're damn well right.

Listen to Johan dreksen or Hugo borst mate and u will know what am talking about. I have even heard some say deco is not better than him, therefore he should be in barca's starting eleven.

I agree with you there, Frank.

I think he will do very well in the Bundesliga. Altogether we must also take into account the fact that he only had one single season in Spain during which he didn't get into the starting line-up for obvious reasons, then had some chances after Xavi got injured, improved after some games and really showed his impact on the team and then got injured himself when he first got back with the Dutch team. Unfortunate I would say. And that's taking into account that the Barca style perhaps doesn't suit his playing abilities. He is an excellent player, in the mould of Lampard and Ballack, and I would not recommend Barça get Lampard either. I do not think he is the kind of player they need.

The moment it was clear he was gonna leave PSV, he seemed destined for either Man United or Bayern to me......he's the type of player that will seamlessly fit in at either club.

He's not done that badly at Barca to be honest (maybe it helps if you never expected him to be a starting player over there).

Great buy for Bayern....the Bundesliga should watch out though, the Dutchies might take over the entire show Razz

(HSV played Herta this weekend, to my surprise both captains were Dutchies Yikes)

    Dutchies are leaders! Cool

Dutchies learn at a very young age to "think" about the game! I think Holland is also the only country where coaches really support players to give their view on the games!

This makes Dutchies always more responsible than foreign players!

This is also immediately the problem of the Dutch. When you don't allow them to give their opinion you have a problem with them.

Another problem with Dutchies abroad is. Dutchies always expect an explanation why a manager takes a decision. When the manager explains it clearly and is honest with the Dutchie you don't have a problem with him. When you can't explain it you get a lot of problems with a Dutchie!!!!!

And it seems managers/chairmen outside the Netherlands do not realise that thing with Dutchies! Because there were so many problems with Dutchies players and managers in the past while it was not necessary if they just understood the Dutchie... Cool

Unfortunately I think one of the main reasons for Van Bommel not fitting in was his lack of understanding of the game and lack of technique. Van Bommel excelled at charging forward, isolating himself, poor finishes and not moving the ball quickly enough, ending up committing fouls.

ricardo (bit off topic) i can see wenger having probs with VP then he nevers explains his decisions and expects the players to work out why they´ve been left out to make them think about their game more

    Off topic again....

BTW For vP this is good! because he was grown up very free (much too free) so he didn't realise there are limits sometimes...! Wenger showed him the borders...

The good thing about mr Wenger is: he is very clear on that! And as long as he doesn't hold vP too long on the bench it isn't bad. But, if vP is not a first line-up player soon he will cause a lot of trouble! Read my lips...! The guy is too ambitious for that and accepted already, for a long time, a lot of "dissapointments"!

He also knows he is too good to be a second rated!
