Drogba wants out Empty Drogba wants out

Post by Parks lives Thu Oct 18, 2007 3:24 pm

He's released a statement apparently according to SSN.

Something about team spirit being broken since Mourinho has left.

    From Sky Sports.

Didier Drogba is set to demand a move from Chelsea, according to reports in France.

The Ivory Coast star has become unsettled in West London following the departure of manager Jose Mourinho.

Last season's top-scorer in England has found Mourinho's departure hard to take and now with Milan and Real Madrid circling - Drogba has admitted he cannot take life with Chelsea anymore.

    Exit

"I want to leave Chelsea," he has told France Football - which will publish the full interview on Friday.

"Nothing can stop me from leaving now. Something is broken with Chelsea.

"The damage in the dressing room is big because we know now what happened and who caused Mourinho's departure."

Drogba insisted that no matter who Chelsea might sign next summer - he did not want to play for The Blues beyond this season.

"I know that Ronaldinho and Kaka are linked to come next season but even that won't change my mind," he continued.

Rumours of Drogba's unrest have been circulating ever since Mourinho's departure and his latest outburst would only seem to confirm that he does not have a long-term future at the club.

Wow, I wonder if he actually said that?!

Anyway I think with the new manager and the new players (next summer) and style of football, Drogs will not be as vital to Chelsea, next season as he is at the moment.

They've put what he said as quotes so he must surely have said it otherwise they would get in a lot of trouble. Not like you can twist or misinterpret some of what he said, it's pretty clear what he feels. It will be an interesting interview to read tomorrow. It does seem likely that he will try to leave this summer, although if Chelsea can sort out some of their off-field problems then there is a chance that he will change his mind.

He's a numpty. Managers get sacked all the time.

Chelsea were in a bad patch and had reverted to playing dull anit-football again. If I was Abramovich, I'd have sacked Mourinho long ago! the guys spent a small fortune on the club. The least you expect in return is a little flair.

Drogba will be a huge loss for them, but he'll command a huge fee and is replaceable.

I just heard someone from France Football magazine confirm the story on Talksport radio.

I wonder what the chances are of Mourinho and Drogba ending up at AC Milan for the start of next season?

This is from the Chelsea website:

    DROGBA STATEMENT
Following reports regarding the future of Didier Drogba, Chelsea Football Club has the following statement:

'Didier Drogba signed a new four year contract last year. As a top professional we are sure Didier is committed to Chelsea and intends to honour that contract.'

According to Spanish reports, Drogba wants to go to Spain or Italy and that he needs a team that he would want to break a leg for (Shocked) and that there aren't 50 of those, only 4: AC Milan, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Marseille..

    So Real Madrid it is..

I think he should go to Milan as well. He will make a great diving/acting partnership with Dida & Gila.

If he says wants to go, I would prefer it if he actually did go, rather than do an Henry or a Gerrard, whereby he says "I'm off, see ya" only to then say "Actually I didn't know what I was doing, make me captain."

If we hadn't signed Henry I would be begging and pleading Laporta to sign Drogba.. but we can't really have two veterans hampering Bojan's and Gio's progression.

The wording of that speaks volumes...clear message to Drogba that his comments were out of line and he'll have some explaining to do.
