there's only cech in the EPL, but we've had umpteen arguments on here about what constitures WC, and you'd hardly expect a manager not to big his players up a bit.

Mind u we were told by a southampton fan that theo is Cr@p and overpriced so they shouldn't try to take any credit when he reaches the level we are all expecting him to reach in the future.

Bull. Walcott has been Cr@p for Arsenal until the start of this season, where he's showing the sort of form he did 2 years ago for Southampton. Some achievement Wenger, taking a player back two years in his development...
110% wrote:he wasn't an england player until he went to arsenal
He was essentially still a Southampton player, since he'd never kicked a ball for Arsenal when he was selected. And as soon as he did play for Arsenal, he was dropped from the squad. Coincidence?

exactly the same you can't expect managers to come out and say we've got 2 average GKs, and 1 with promise whose still young ffs.Parks lives wrote:What would be your reaction if Rafa or Fergie said that?
i rarely watch managers interviews for this v reason, its futile listening to them, they are bound to say we did well if they won, we were unlucky/poor depending on circs, my players are great, etc., etc. pretty sure fergie beefs up his players all the time, he did it last night how they'd come in done v well in diff formations, how team spirit was good. he'd be wrong to say any different in public.

wenger is clearly wrong to have been so brunt, but in fairness fergie has developed CR, as he has with rooney to a point, as wenger has done with cesc but they were all bought so a reasonable amount of credit goes to the original clubs but player development doesn't stop when they are boughtL r d wrote:Lets stretch it to 18.....we produced cristiano and taught him all the skills he knows

Yes. Uefa recognise these players as academy trained and their post technical developments usually occurs at the ages between 17-23.Kimbo wrote:So now we're allowed to take credit for players that we bought at the age of 16/17?

Theo IS overpriced, he's scored one meaningful goal and chipped in with a couple against a retard team in a 7-0 thrashing. Although i'd love to see him get picked for England as we have several sell-on clauses that would be triggered depending on no. of England starts/goals etc.

Re: Oh do shut the f@ck up Wenger
I wouldn't even say John Terry is a Chelsea product, and we took him at 14.
I think it should be the club who effectively taught him how to play the game, developed him from a very young age are the club with the right to say they've produced the player, not the club who paid £ Xm for him.

Re: Oh do shut the f@ck up Wenger
walcott got about 10 assists in all comp last season mainly as a sub all at the grand age of 17. Yeah he's only scored one meaning goal and another 2 against a mediocre opposition
