Depends on what you read I guess.

All the news around here (London) suggested he was desperate to sign a deal with us for life, and rubbished all the Barcelona claims.

I agree that the move doesn't make any sense, but what I don't understand is that he has said quite a few times in the media that he would like to play for us in the future, and how he admires Ronaldinho etc.. If he wasnt thinking of moving on then why would say these things to the press?

I'd agree with that. Stone wall penalty, but you'd expect someone of Terry's reputation as a big, strong centreback, would do a little more to stay on his feet. Went down like Coopers mother for a fiver.

You should've haggled like Obispo, she has no RRP ya know. ok

She wouldnt shag a welsh for less than 20 to be honest.

Nonsense. She's not educated enough to know what "a welsh" is.

We recognise you by smell and usually with you walking next to a sheep.

If you had a sense of smell you wouldn't be living in Boro.

Ive been out of the area.....London is the worst smelling place in the country you know.

Like I say the press interpret things differently.

I'm sure a Barcelona journalist (and fan) would have a completely different view of what he may have said to a London journalist (who is a Chelsea fan).

The fact is that neither versions (both London and Barcelona) are going to be completely true, but there is an element of truth in both (the truth is probably more likely to have been Lamps saying he wants to stay at Chelsea, but if he moved anywhere else he would like it to be Barcelona, because of his partner)

The only way I could see it happening was if Laporta decided to go for him (against the advice of Txiki and Riijkard) and even then he would be massively expensive. So I think it is best for both clubs if he stays put, as I think he could very well end up like Van Bommel, due to his playing style and technique (no offence intended).

    @ Oleguer

Sure, Ale no offence taken. Lamps imo is very good for the Premiership, but this is the only league in the world (possibly the German league), where he would be as successful. La Liga would be 1 of the worst moves for him personally (likewise the opposite: if someone like Ronaldinho decided to join us any time in his career)

Mourinho's reply to Hughes comments about the penalty saga:

Mourinho dismissed his opposing number’s thoughts on the challenge on Terry with a touch of recent history.

“If Mark Hughes wants to speak about penalties, he should speak about three penalty decisions last season which he never spoke about. Last season he was very happy with three decisions and he won the game here and went home happy.

“Today he is speaking - but that is how almost everybody is in football. I am a little bit the same. There was a penalty on John Terry in the first-half, very similar to the second one.

“The rules are very clear. If a defender pushes or pulls or keeps contact for more than two or three seconds with an attacker, it is a penalty. For me the penalty was clear.”
